Well i am enjoying it and am on lightning hoof (US). I am horde and if anyone wants to join me on some low level questing, or have a bigger char i can hang with when i am all grown up it would be cool.
Why feed the brainless monster (Blizzard) when you can play free servers that are just as good! www.wowstatus.net has a list of a lot of servers. Also, you can play different servers based on your play style! Getting bored of having to grind so many quests? Join a server with increased drop/exp rates. There are PvP servers where you kill one thing and you're at the highest level.
Also, the beauty of it is it's all legal. There aren't any laws that prevent you from playing privately owned servers. The only thing that blizzard can do is ban your accounts, but unless you go advertising the private servers in the forums, that won't happen.

Rave: if it's all legal, why can they still ban you for it? ;)

He means that player run servers are legal as far as the law is concerned, which is why they exist. And as far as Blizzard, they reserve the right to ban you from their own servers for anything they want.

Exactly.
Just because it violates their terms of service does not mean it breaks the law.
