so basically we have the same mage shield being sold for less and less and less and no one is really selling/buying. Why?

Brakke Bres [Ow man] March 13 2009 5:25 AM EDT

why? market saturation.

AdminShade March 13 2009 6:22 AM EDT

Market saturation of an item which does not spawn in Auctions or am I wrong? Doesn't seem like the cause...

Brakke Bres [Ow man] March 13 2009 6:26 AM EDT

mageshield is a niche item. You need it for a specific strategy.
Most players here already have a mageshield to incorporate into their strategies. Therefor the market for mageshields is saturated. Most players who need one have one and there is no new demand.

Isn't this just endemic of CB2 as a whole? All the current teams are either many years established, with all the equipment they require, or starters with enough spending power that they snap up anything they need, the moment they need it.

So without a large influx of active players/teams, CB continues to create more 'rares' that aren't needed, only to eventually find them in the hands of Mr Chairman to dispose of, when desire to pick them up for a song disappears.

And to think I paid a truck load for mine back in the day...

Then again, there's not a single rare item I currently have equipped that I didn't vastly over-pay for.

:) kinda the reason why i have more money then you =x

If you look at the past auctions of an item like the Elven Hauberk, you will find the same thing: market saturation.

Kefeck [Demonic Serenity] March 14 2009 1:09 AM EDT

I just sold one for 2.8 million, and had an offer for 3 million.

[P]Mitt March 14 2009 2:14 AM EDT

I'd like a mageshield, but I'm out of money :)

It is perfect for my strategy...

I think timing has a little to do with it. There has been a lot of stuff for sale lately. If the saturation is high, then have the Central Bank have a higher buy back rate. He's been scooping up RoE's like a madman lately for ~500k :o
