Clan autodisbanding: in need of a review? (in General)

AdminShade March 14 2009 11:07 PM EDT

Please take a minute to look at this clan.

As you can see, the last active player in this clan had logged in the last time in December 2007, that's over a year ago!
Since no character from the clan really fights or is being fought, the clan continues to exist and clutters up the entire clan reward system.
Should this be checked and have the clan auto disbanding see an update or should someone (me?) look into all of those 0 point score clans to see when they have been active and disband them if necessary?

do not worry they are very much needed for ncb runs who fight in clans. i made a econ clan called imashbuttons and its filled with people who never logged in again.

I would much rather have it work differently.
No clan auto-disband (not even if the clan is at -9001 clan points) unless the clan is void of members.
Instead, auto-kick people from clans after 3 months of inactivity.

imo they are absolutely not needed because new character don't get any bonus from them. If they would be active players however, these could help them much better because they grow, these characters are just sitting there dead as they are.

If it really bothers you all that much (and I can't see why you would really care), just spend the BA to attack them into the negative, and they will be disbanded.

I think his point is pretty clear.

The size of the bonus you get is based on the numbers of clans getting a bonus. Which, as far as I know, means any clan in the positives.

So if a clan is +2 for a week, they're taking up EVERYONE else's rewards, even if it's a tiny amount. And when there are multiple clans doing this, well, more rewards lost.

As far as it being a player's responsbility to get rid of these clans, I would say it's the game's responsibility to either A) Give the players a reason to or B) At least not penalize us for doing it.

Or, better yet, just stop this from happening by requiring some minimum number of CP (something like 100 in a week) or be disbanded.

Or just rework the clan system, which has been plagued with issues for a very long time.

While it does bother me, these clans mess with the calculation of the bonuses for every clan, I'm not really inclined in fighting them into the negatives :#

"The size of the bonus you get is based on the numbers of clans getting a bonus. Which, as far as I know, means any clan in the positives."

The top 25% of fighting clans get a bonus to rewards per fight.

having more clans in the positive actually helps others get rewards, not hurts them. this can be seen early on mondays when most are at zero and therefore few get a bonus.

Admindudemus [jabberwocky] March 15 2009 12:40 PM EDT

in effect, if you have 100 clans in the positive, 25 would get a bonus.

if you only have 20, then only 5 would be getting a bonus. the more clans in the positive the better for all of us.

AdminNightStrike March 15 2009 12:52 PM EDT

Exactly.

Fix the MPR cap!

QBOddBird March 15 2009 1:27 PM EDT

Well, better for us if you want everyone to have a bonus.

I have no need for CPs; I think I should fight all the inactive clans into negatives myself, to reduce the number at the top getting a bonus.

This should make clan fighting more competitive and exciting, no?

Unless this is like the BA regen rate deal, where we don't want competitive or exciting, we just want everyone on CB to be able to log in 2x a day to burn their BA without missing any and receive maximum bonus for doing so...

"Well, better for us if you want everyone to have a bonus."

i merely meant better for everyone as the current system goes rather than them sucking up rewards as some in the thread tend to think is happening. whether the current system is exciting or not i really have no input on. this is the system we have to work with.

as for taking them out, that is certainly an option you have in the current system as well. perhaps sut would join you in your endeavors! ; )

AdminNightStrike March 15 2009 1:36 PM EDT

If you want to fight inactive clan, you are welcome to do so.

AdminShade March 15 2009 5:50 PM EDT

Hmm, hadn't looked at it in the way of only top 25% of clans getting a bonus.

nvm I brought this up ^_^
