From useful to useless. The RoE story. (in General)

Drama [Just for fun] March 26 2009 12:19 PM EDT

Really this tattoo's bad, why would you waste your time using this Rune instead of another one that would make you kill higher characters with a bigger challenge bonus. And without any exp bonus(if you don't have the USD to name it) it's more then useless IMO.

So why is it still in the game? I mean I've looked at the sold RoE in the past months, no ones wants it anymore and the price dropped from more then 2 000 000 gold to less then 500 000 and still not much is bought at this price.

So please tell me, is there a super strat I've miss or is the RoE good for a better change or the garbage.

QBRanger March 26 2009 12:34 PM EDT

You hit the nail on the head.

However, there are some people who want to get a higher challenge bonus and a tattoo does raise ones PR quite a bit.

00 March 26 2009 12:40 PM EDT

AA is using it quite nicely.

BootyGod March 26 2009 12:48 PM EDT

The RoE wasn't useful before.

It was 100% mandatory for any character that wanted to compete.

Now, it's a choice between a stronger character or better manipulation of your character's stats.

Much better than a choice between competing and not competing, IMHO.

I use an RoE. I like it just fine.

Goodfish March 26 2009 1:55 PM EDT

RoE is one of the best ways to save money, currently.

I actually own two. I convinced my brother to get one, and we both use ours to pretty good effect.

BadFish March 26 2009 1:56 PM EDT

my tat, well over MTL, doesn't help me kill a single person and lowers my challenge bonuses about 30% across the board. With my RoE I can concentrate all my exp on my tank while still having 2 killslots with decent enchantments, and keep my challenge bonus high. Part of that is probably my underpowered strat, but there you go.

4 Minions form the start. And AS. Each of the three base minion can be piled to the eyeballs with MGS etc and not add a single bit of PR to your team.

Plus you gain extra HP from AS's lovely staking on multiple minions.

It was working very well for me. ;)

Cube March 26 2009 4:27 PM EDT

My character that I RoEed with that I haven't fought with for 3 months is still at 1.2 mil score 300k mpr.

Flamey March 26 2009 4:49 PM EDT

Without an RoE I wouldn't have gotten to 6/20 refresh, thanks. Naming it doesn't do that much, so it's not like it's a must. I was a 4 minion RoS team and I was getting a slightly lower ChB but much more exp rewards, so I don't see how that's even an issue. Your PR drops lot and then you get the extra 20%.

Thread title should be

From mandatory to useful. The RoE story.

QBRanger March 26 2009 4:52 PM EDT

When you used the ROE, it gave bonus xp.

Now it does not.

Huge difference in its attractiveness feature. Hence this thread.

If you used the ROE in its current form back then, you would not have made 6 regeneration any faster then using any tattoo. Challenge bonuses aside.

Drama [Just for fun] March 26 2009 5:07 PM EDT

People wich says, in this thread, they are currently using it right now have named their RoE and that's exactly why I think that it's less attractive to player that won't spend USD then the last version of RoE.

Admindudemus [jabberwocky] March 26 2009 5:10 PM EDT

you can name an item without usd.

Cube March 26 2009 5:12 PM EDT

I hadn't named it. It was useful because I could keep 3 extra kill slots.

Goodfish March 26 2009 5:15 PM EDT

My brother and I both used unnamed RoE's until we could get good deals on named ones. Mine is only named for another two months.

If you think the 4% experience bonus is why I'm using it, you're horribly wrong. I use it for the exp concentration.

Drama [Just for fun] March 26 2009 5:31 PM EDT

Still the price of the item dropped by half and central bank has bought like 1/3 of them so either majority of the cb players doesn't understand the strengh of this item or they think the old one was better. At least that's what the supply and demands shows me.

[RX3]Cotillion March 26 2009 6:03 PM EDT

The price dropped drastically for two reasons. One was already mentioned: the removal of bonus xp.

The second is because the RoE was a supporter item. They were actually rare until some of our community cried for a reintroduction.

Now after everyone got their hands on the reintroduced hard to find RoE, the bonus was removed and barely anyone wants to use them...

I actually loaned one to SBW months ago, haven't gotten it back, but I can care less.
