How to use Shield of Cap.? (in General)
I am planning to use it. I think it is nice addition that might trigger a surprise against others. I am not quite sure of the requirement in ST/DEX and/or NW of Hammer required to use this Shield efficiently. Help?

Pretty sure the only requirement as that your hammer-style weapon hits.

well currently it is fairly bug ridden but here are the basic stats.
you need no str to do damage and only enough dex to hit. if you miss it does nothing.
you will absorb physical damage until a direct hit.
the current bug is that equipping any ranged weapon and having any hammer equipped causes direct hits in ranged to also do damage. so this means that if someone hits you in rounds 1-4 and you hit in round for with say an ELB it will cause damage.
that's about it. however it's a risky move because much of that could change when the bugs are fixed.
any hammer? any ST/Dex? 1k NW hammer will do?

indeed....a trick i used was to equip say a lucern hammer and a ranged weapon with a decent amount of plus of say 50. if you can get one ranged hit in it will return all the damage absorbed thus far.
So if i understand this right:
It will absorb physical damage until you land a melee blow. At which point the absorb 'restarts', and continues absorbing until you land another melee blow.
The absorb is additive?
As in, I take 100k damage, it's 'stored' 100k.
I take another 100k, and it's stored 200k.
I melee and it deals 200k absorbed damage, and now i've stored 0.
Or does it only absorb the first damage until you land a blow? So, i take 1k damage, and then 100k damage. It absorbs 1k, does nothing to the 100k, and i deal 1k stored damage on next melee.

It stores up all the damage until you finally hit with a hammer type weapon.
I have seen blows of 3+ million with my SoC on my tank.

k first of all the current bug allows you to return damage in RANGED assuming you have a hammer equipped. this will likely change once it is fixed.
Secondly: it absorbs damage based on the +'s so a +20 would absorb 10% of physical damage. the damage stacks until you land a blow.
so lets say someone hits your for 1000, then another 1000, then another 1000. you would absorb a total of 300 and then if you hit on the next shot it would return 300 damage and restart
Is SoC damage retaliated against from GA.
