This is a little embarrassing.
I canceled the credit card that was auto-paying CB's hosting fee. So the hosting company did not get their money for two months which understandably pissed them off. They did not send me an invoice, but they sent a "your account will be turned off in 3 days because you haven't paid" mail that I missed because I only check my @carnageblender email about once a week.
It took me about half an hour to figure out what happened and pay up. Then it took them another 12h to actually turn the server back on. (Ouch.)
They don't have an option to set up autopay with a new card or paypal, which is pretty retarded, but I did forward my CB mail to gmail which I should have done a long time ago. So we should be good going forward.
(Also I work at a non-bargain-basement hosting company now so I might be able to work something out there, which would be awesome. But otherwise I can't afford it; they start at about $400/m.)
Bottom line: sorry, this one was totally my fault.

But that loss of 12 hours, does really hurt the N*B. Ouch.

Since it's free, I guess I can't really complain. But, wow, I can't believe how much that threw off my work day.
Hehehe. I had a new debit/credit card issued not to long ago because our last bank card was supposedly "compromised". I, too, forgot to transfer all my autopays, and subsequently inherited about $240 total in late fees for missed payments from a few different companies. Which is my fault, because I never check my real mail (why do I even have a mailbox still?!) xD -_-
I totally feel your pain!! But no worries ^_^
i think we all do that type of thing, it just usually doesn't affect so many other people.
thanks for letting us know what it was even though it would have been easier to blame it on a power outage or dns error.
have you seen the "known issues" page lately? ; )

From that Alexa site, description of CB:
"Diablo-like game including member information, history, statistics, and signups."
Don't know why, but that just makes me laugh!
Hey, I got hooked on that same sentence, so it can't be that bad :P
