Blizzard Beta Opt in lottery (in Off-topic)

Sign up is now, but it's hard to sign up. I can't get passed the first step. But anyways it is up for those interested in trying to get a spot.

Another thing that I found funny, a while ago some of us pointed out how Blizzard said they were releasing 3 seperate games and it seemed like a cash cow to milk the players... and we also wondered how they would do expansion sets...

well seems Blizzard rephrased their agenda and here it is:

The StarCraft II Trilogy consists of the base StarCraft II game and two subsequent expansion sets. StarCraft II is subtitled Wings of Liberty (working title) and will include a lengthy single-player campaign that focuses on the terrans and puts players in the role of Jim Raynor, one of the series' main heroes. The first expansion set, Heart of the Swarm (working title), will follow later and include a single-player campaign focusing on the zerg and Kerrigan, Queen of Blades. The second expansion set, Legacy of the Void (working title), will continue the story experience with a single-player campaign centered on the protoss.

It will be hilarious if the "expansion" sets cost as much as the original "main" game... when history says they should be around 20 dollars cheaper.

Wow I must say this new setup for the battle.net account answered one of my biggest wishes with Blizzard. I have lost or broke all of my SC discs over the years and have the keys but could never play them, now they offer where you can add games to your account and download the applicable games to your comp!! Shweetness

If it means I get three times the single-playery goodness, I'm all for it!

I would have paid full-price for either Brood War or Frozen Throne. They are expansions, but so well done and adding so much goodness that I consider them almost like sequels. This can be said for Lord of Destruction too. They just set an example for expansions that is unrivaled.

I would have paid triple the price for Lord of Destruction as the Diablo 2 exp. It added so much to the game. Same goes for warcraft.

LoD is...still being updated, after 8 years! Pretty awesome if you ask me. Starcraft was also supported for a very long time after it's release. Official ladders and tournaments for both games have been maintained for a while too.

Let em' release SC2 in three parts. If the first one's good, I'll get the others.

I don't know, I have my doubts. SC2 will certainly get its share of playtime out of me, but whether or not I'll enjoy it as much as its predecessor remains to be seen. I'll just say that I'm skeptical that SC2 will be better than- or even as good as- SC1.

I'm still waiting on my keys to the SC2 Beta. Silly Blizzard is taking their time.
