BoE and SB, a quick chat. (in General)

I have always been a bit confused as to these 2 items.

They both give fixed bonuses so at base you get all the bonus without bump in PR.

Currently:
BoE 8% dex and 5% magic
SB 3% magic

I would like to see this changed to be in line with other bonus items.

I propose:

BoE: .33% dex per +, .25% magic per +.

To get back to levels already given, you would need a +24 BoE. That NW would be only 1M.

The top BoE is A Breastplate of Expertise [18] (+35) worth $5,589,059 owned by Artemis (Vacation Character). This would give 12% dex and 9% magic (rounding up). With this change, the BoE may become a nice choice to the TSA for tanks. The dex/skill bonus is high, but still good enough for play.

Possibly one can upgrade it to +45 for a lot of NW, giving 15% dex bonus and 12% magic bonus.

SB: .5% magic per +. To get to 3% magic one needs +6 SB which would be 115k.

The top SB is Smelly Bootees [4] (+15) worth $24,073,741 owned by Freed (The Hens of Daze) which would give 8% magic. Making them worth the 3M for a base pair, and very useful choice between these and DBs for mages/enchanters.

As I do not use either items this would actually hurt me vs DD as it would be more powerful.

Ideas?

We do have bonus items that add no PR, the Morg for instance and the Combat Gi. I quite like fixed bonuses, where MPR is the only deciding factor. But if you carried this change over to all fixed bonus items it would be quite interesting, especially where the Gi is concerned. I'm sure many UC users would be very fond of that change.

Weapons do fall into another system. As the change on the x not counting to PR shows.
