I want to get the crap scared out of me. (Dull summer so far.) I was thinking of watching "The Ring". Any recommendations?

The last few minutes of a movie called Audition is beyond words.

The last scene, or just before of Casino is real life scary.

Hostel was not too bad.

Casino is suuuuuuch a good movie. =)

Hostel was just plain disgusting not really scary. Neither were the Saw movies. They were just sick and twisted.

Once I fell asleep watching the ring (I think for the second time), my wife came home several hours later and in the process of waking my up she bent over and her long black hair hid her face...

Needless to say I was a teeny bit shocked to be woken up like that =D

theres no good scary movies left...I much prefer the type of movies hitchcock did that made you think some instead of squirm in your seat...but for pure horror and hours of it watch the "Hellraiser" series..the best horror scary stuff out there right now thats not 30 years old or a remake of Dracula or Frankenstein

You may have seen these already. But if you haven't watch them their pretty good in my opinion. and yea these are pretty old.
IT
Sixth Sense

Try "Little Black Book" or "He's just not that into you"

Nothing scarier than what the fairer sex thinks is entertaining...

There's nothing like Asian horror movies when you want to get the crap scared out of you :P

The original Japanese versions of The Ring (Ringu) and The Grudge (Ju-on) are awesome, but the movie you should watch is called Shutter. (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0440803/) You'll be surprised how effective it is. Oh, by the way, don't watch the Hollywood remake: it sucks.

Watch either version of Quarantine as a start, a very jumpy film.
The Strangers is another very good modern horror.
Whilst it may have a lot of action I would also recommend the latest version of The Mist.
