See for yourself the impact results.

"The Earth is completely disrupted by the impact and its debris forms a new asteroid belt orbiting the sun between Venus and Mars."

I didn't expect anything else from a rock equally large as the Earth itself. ;)

That link is awesome, thanks.

I'm not worried, the Earth has lasted a whole 6000 years so far, so I am sure God will protect us from any such atrocities (until the End Times, anyway!)

PearsonTritonRaveshaw July 28 2009 6:14 PM EDT

Sut, God has not protected you thus far. I have. =P

QBsutekh137 July 28 2009 6:50 PM EDT

ooooh, a SexyProtector, too!

Lucky me!

Shark August 2 2009 7:22 AM EDT

yes thanks ranger, :)
I've always wanted to know that I was going to die with my pants on fire

kevlar August 2 2009 11:07 AM EDT

Bruce Willis and co. won't let it happen.

Lochnivar August 2 2009 11:14 AM EDT

Didn't Bruce die stopping the last asteroid?

I'm pretty sure sure that documentary on Armageddon said he died...

... who will save us now then? Affleck?

kevlar August 2 2009 11:18 AM EDT

lol, I think we're out of luck then, Affleck has eaten way too many animal crackers by now.

(one of those movies I can watch over and over)

Major Global Changes:
The Earth is not strongly disturbed by the impact and loses negligible mass.
27.86 percent of the Earth is melted
The impact does not make a noticeable change in the Earth's rotation period or the tilt of its axis.
The impact does not shift the Earth's orbit noticeably.

"The Earth is *not* strongly disturbed" and "27.86 percent of the Earth is melted"

Did I miss something? :-p
