Community Question (in General)
I have been thinking about the problems highlighted in Rawr's tread about the NCB.
http://www.carnageblender.com/bboard/q-and-a-fetch-msg.tcl?msg_id=002ptq
Because i want to know what people's answers to this question;
Would you rather
A) not be able to reach the top 95% of MPR or
B) Restart EVERYTHING in CB3 and be able to be in the top 95%?
There is the question, please post your answers.

Where is the option saying that it's possible to reach 95% MPR but it requires a lot of hard work?
Sorry, my mistake
A) not be able to reach the top 95% of MPR with an NCB,
B) Spending years in an attempt to reach the top,
C) Not complaining and just want to play this game or
D) Restart EVERYTHING in CB3 and be able to be in the top 95%?
hard work is not an option 3B... Duh!
Under the revised options, I'd go with "B) Spending years in an attempt to reach the top"
Why not? They spent years (or USD) getting there...

I'm already firmly in category (C).
We've been through (D) already when we switched from CB1 to CB2 and I'd guess that most of the people that came across aren't in the top 95% now either, so I don't think that one's a certainty by any means.
For me, i play this as a game not a past time so i am very much choosing C.
After the first 20 people i will probably do a count as to what peoples opinions are.
Thanks to people that have already participated in this.

I guess my feeling on the matter isn't A through D. I just don't think the N*B makes sense in its current format. The bonuses vault new characters to the top (ineffectively if the goal is 95%), then players have their growth immediately halted. If you've been sucking on the 400% faster-growth teet, having your progression get flat-out decimated basically means a finish line for your character.
Things may be different for me, as I don't really care about reaching "the top." I just want to enjoy growing my character and passing others, regardless of when I stand in the overall picture. But, as I've said before, I fear the end of my NUB. I've had a few months to get used to an insanely high 382% growth, and it's just going to be stripped away. I really do believe it's going to be a CB morale hurdle for me. If I continue to play this character, I might feel like I'm getting nowhere, but starting a NCB run is pointless since I won't come even remotely close to doing better than I have with NUB (thanks, free BA!).
I don't care about being the best in CB. Hell, I was fine stuck in the middle of CB1. I just don't want to feel like my character is done simply because he hits the end of a N*B. I don't like putting USD into "free" games, but I'm at the point that I'd consider paying to get a rolling bonus created. I know that those in charge don't like the idea of a rolling bonus, but at this point, I'll settle for at least tapering off the end of the N*B to hide the sudden stop.
I'm going to go with B/C. Don't complain and spend years getting there.
D. Kill it with fire and maybe we can get some advertising for the new version and people won't have an insurmountable wall glaring at them when they join.

C with a little B for flavor...

If it means fixing all the things that need fixing, killing the N*B once and for all, and cleansing the CB economy, I'd be all for a complete reset.
But if it's just more of the same with a '3' at the end, I'll just stick with my current character for a few years.
So D or B, depending on the terms of D.

B) Spending years in an attempt to reach the top
On the condition that something is done to make this possible, as the current condition is that - unless you are already very close to the top - you aren't going to reach it. Period. The rate of growth is too slow, and nobody here is going to hit all of their BA for a solid decade in order to catch up and win an online text-based game.
(I hope.)
I notice a distinct lack of As. :P
Please continue posting, i am still curious as to people's opinions.
I don't want to play at the top so C.

CB 2 is now because of what CB1 became after a few years
This is more fun with more options and than just playing for the SO Called Top
I miss camping :)
CB is just something to do for me now not a lifestyle like it was
So it doesnt matter to me
No time for me to make a run for the top, I just play.
So unless camping is included >:)I say no to CB3

E) Change the system so you CAN reach 95% of top MPR with some reasonable amount of work without being a big USD spender

If we ever end up on Facebook, the pay to play option becomes that much more valuable to game developers. Check out a game like Mafia Wars on FB and see the options to spend real money. We have a few, but I'd be expecting to see even more. Especially with the possibility of a player base of hundreds of thousands or more.

B.
And I'm close to having the top MPR. So you can't say it can't be done, just takes time.

On an interesting sidenote about the whole 95% thing that everyone in CB thinks they deserve...
FTW (5,117,582)
King of Pain (5,107,226)
NWO (4,921,056)
Hubbell (4,794,814)
The Immortals (4,770,597)
Notice the #4 MPR in the entire game is only at 93.6% of the top MPR?

Don't forget though that FTW was built with a ROE, so gained far more MPR than it would have done with a normal tattoo build. Probably skewed everything out of proportion along the way...
FTW (5117582)
King of Pain (5109080)
NWO (4921056)
Hubbell (4794814)
The Immortals (4770597)
Dagobah (4697400)
The Hens of Daze (4663487)
Dixie Cousins (4585773)
Failure (4527338)
B Ark (4482367)
While I'm not sure the relevance of the old RoE with the case at hand, the top non-RoE, non-N*B is NWO (3rd place). He is trailed by only 3 characters with 95% of his MPR or higher. 7th place is under that mark. Again, I'm not seeing where this "I absolutely need 95% to be competative" mindset comes from.
Becuase that's the way the bonus has been designed.
If you can't get to 95% with equivalent effort, it's not working as intended.
Now, we migh tnot need, nor want it to work that way, which is a whole 'nother discussion. ;)
<BluBBen> Hatch, I think it's because Jon stated that the NCB are designed to go to max 95%
<TheHatchetman> he stated that as an absolute max. meaning, do everything perfect, miss 0 BA, fight during XP times, but not during money with a top clan bonus... To assume that everyone should be able to do so even as often as once a year is ludicrous
Run an NCB under those conditions, and end up with less than 93% (gotta leave some margin of error, eh?) and we'll talk. As is, I can recall someone running a NCB and taking all the proper steps and channels and either rearranging his life around his BA schedule, or sure as hell making it look that way... He's currently in the number 2 position, inevitably taking the top MPR slot.
Don't wanna click for years and years for your chance at number one? No problem. Just don't expect to take it from those who have already done it.
