Hey, tourneyplayers! (in General)

Please be careful not to auction off any of the rares you're pulling from the market. As is, we have way too many of them. Try to aim for removal of supporter items especially, as that will contribute to their value and promote use of the Special Items store to help support this wonderful game.

As a side note, rares being rarer makes your drops worth more ~_^

I made this point in the other thread. I was made fun of for it. Thanks Hatch.

Rare rares? RIDICULOUS!

Kefeck [Demonic Serenity] August 4 2009 8:36 PM EDT

Thats all fine and dandy, but i'm currently building a new strat with new equipment and i would like the prices too be cheap. So i will be selling my tourney equipment. =p

NooneKnows August 5 2009 2:57 AM EDT

bravo, Hatch.

QBRanger August 5 2009 9:05 AM EDT

Bravo Kefeck!!

QBRanger August 5 2009 9:06 AM EDT

Yes,

Let us make it harder for new players to get the items they need quickly to grow.

And while we are at it, let us make it harder for NCB people to grow enough to actually challenge the top spot.

Stagnation is good!!!

QBJohnnywas August 5 2009 9:41 AM EDT

But on the other hand, rares being rarer works for me. Remember that thrill when you were able to buy your first 'rare'? If they're easily available then that's yet another bit of fun from the game gone.

Otherwise just stop calling them rares and have everything spawn in the stores on a regular basis.

Make rares rare!!!

QBRanger August 5 2009 10:25 AM EDT

Unfortunately JW the cat is out of the bag, the horse left the barn, etc..

All the older players and most new players have almost all the items they want or need.

But new players still have to find them. Should we be stubborn and make it hard for them to compete, given everyone else has all the rares they need? There is no thrill in buying a rare anymore. For most it is just spending money we make. NUB's make money at such an advanced rate, any thrill is minor if at all.

If rares were really rare, I would agree. But when a new player can make 5M in the first month easy, what is the point of rare items?

I really long for the days of CB1 when I was so ectatic when I bought my first Exec and had it forged 1M NW.

Now most NUB's make that in a day or 2.

I would like to see CB be an even playing field and let new players get the items they need to grow fast. To give the top some new blood.

NooneKnows August 5 2009 11:14 AM EDT

"a new player can make 5M in the first month easy"

with that kind of income, one should have no problem obtaining the "rares" one "needs."

TheHatchetman August 5 2009 11:45 AM EDT

"And while we are at it, let us make it harder for NCB people to grow enough to actually challenge the top spot."

I still don't know why everyone thinks they're entitled to the top spot. How many number ones can there truly be? I've held a top 10 spot on multiple occasions, and broken into it on countless more. Yet, I've never had top 10 net worth, never had a top 20 tat, and never had top 30 MPR... So another question would be, why is this so hard for everyone else? But back on topic:

"Let us make it harder for new players to get the items they need quickly to grow."

Unused rentals are plentiful. Barring the AoJ, when was the last time anyone needed a rare that they didn't have access to near instantly from rentals (if they had even thought to check) until they made the cash to buy one outright from a couple days of spending BA?

An interesting side note... Know what ELB, AoF, AoI, TSA, MCM, CoI, DB, EB, AG, EG, HoC, Corn, HoE, HoD, and MgS all have in common (aside from being "rare")? There's more of each of them than active users in the past 7 days.

QBRanger August 5 2009 12:27 PM EDT

People do use more than 1 corn per character.

Same with the AoF and other items.

Almaisky August 5 2009 12:29 PM EDT

Do you know what else ELB, AoF, AoI, TSA, MCM, CoI, DB, EB, AG, EG, HoC, Corn, HoE, HoD, and MgS have in common?

They all are available in rentals.

QBRanger August 5 2009 12:31 PM EDT

It is hard to make a character depending on items that are in rentals.

Rentals are good for starting out, or if an item is being forged, but one cannot always count on the item you need being available. Or the exact upgrade you need.

I personally use rentals for testing without having to purchase the item.

QBRanger August 5 2009 12:32 PM EDT

But again,

It is a personal decision to put or not put your T character rares into auctions.

Either way, enjoy the tourney and do what you think is best for the overall health of the game!!

GL to all those in it, it seems like a very fun one. I would have played if I had more time or drive.

QBJohnnywas August 5 2009 12:35 PM EDT

To be fair, while rentals is great for equipment I'm not a fan of renting weapons, I think you need to own those to be able to upgrade.

QBOddBird August 5 2009 2:32 PM EDT

I like rental weapons being upgradeable, it helps out the forgers. Differentiation between rented items and owned items would be nice, though...

QBRanger August 5 2009 2:33 PM EDT

Many a time I have put an item in rentals for the forger to snag.

To avoid those horrible tranfer fees on high NW items.

1k for 30 days vs 100k for 1 week is a large difference.
