Child 44: anyone know this book? (in Off-topic)

I bought this book as a gamble and surprisingly it is such a page turner. I finished it and immediately ordered it's sequel, The Secret Speech.

For those who don't know it, search for either Child 44 or for Tom Rob Smith. It's a fairly young writer but the way he writes is amazing. It is like reading a book from Dan Brown but with more and faster action in it.

I've never heard of it, but it sounds like a good read.

The first 2 chapters made me decide to bring it on holiday. Even though I had a lot to do on holiday, I finished it a week afterwards.

I really enjoyed this book, was gripping and well researched. I also read "the secret speech" in a similar fashion. I feel that Tom Rob Smith is an exciting new author and i can't wait for his next book. There is a movie coming out of child 44 also, which i will see on its first night:)

Alas I can't see any details but the book would be directed by Ridley Scott (Gladiator).

Sounds interesting, will see if they have it at the library.
