Name my company. 100k prize. (in Contests)
September 2 2009 1:56 PM EDT
I have recently started my own company as a Floor layer and picked up a number of decent contracts. I am currently expanding and growing in these times of recession. It is now at the point where I need a company name instead of numbers.
100k to the best name >IMO<
Should have something to do with floors or floor laying.
A clever name would help.
Nothing non-pg or implying non-pg.
Should appeal to Rich people as well as contractors.
Contest is subject to end immediately after I find a name that I like.

You can always go with "Absolute Flooring." It's generic, but starting the name with "Ab" guarantees good placement in the phonebook.
employees, or just you?
layman or laymen? ; )
whats your name? My friends used thier first letter of their last names to make their company "DC Flooring"
I would personally do something like "FTW Flooring" or "Flooring FTW"
Young people will think AWESOME!!! and older people can be told its Foam, Tile and Wood.
Crusty Flooring (fox might sue)
Top Shelf Flooring (stupid and suggestive!)
HD Floors (works for everything else)
Icecap floors (ironic if you do radiant heat installs)
Polar Floors (what do you want it looks like it's cold in that picture)
The Floor Admiral
Warped Flooring (I love this name!)
On our knees flooring (it's true!)
September 2 2009 2:55 PM EDT
All your Floors are belonged to us?
Floors 'r' us?
Put our Floor behind your Door?
"Last Name" Flooring
If your business becomes very successful you'll be remembered by the name. Definitely pick your last name, and if you have a son even better.

I think I have a winner but keep them coming I may change my mind.
September 2 2009 3:06 PM EDT
Something with your name, as in, "So and so Flooring"?
Floors -n- More (well, if you do anything more, that is)
Cutting Edge Floors
You could even get a truck with the company name on it. Who wouldn't want their last name on their truck?
"You could even get a truck with the company name on it. Who wouldn't want their last name on their truck?"
anyone who suffers from road rage most likely! ; )
red knee floors
semi auto flooring (nail guns are awesome)
Hack and Slash Floors
CB Flooring and Crime Scene Cleanup
September 2 2009 4:01 PM EDT
Company name: Euflooria
Catchphrase: "Best lay you'll ever have".
"We promise we'll get you laid in one day"
Damn you Beee! I thought I had this till you showed up!
September 2 2009 4:05 PM EDT
Nobody uses the yellow pages any longer so don't worry about placement.
Don't use words like "Best," "Affordable," "Quality," or "Budget." I have found the opposite is almost always true of those company's.
"Get Floored Flooring"
"Flat Out Flooring"
"Not Boring Flooring"
"Flooring Prose" because "All the worlds a stage" while we are merely the layers!":-)
"The Floor Pros"
acme flooring, with a picture of wylie coyote laying tile! ; )
May think of something else later.
Anyone find my laid joke, funny? I think I may start using it :P
it would likely get you...floored! ; )
"Need to get laid?"
"Call "blah blah blah" Flooring."
Use that catch phrase for any name, lol

It's not over, but these are the ones I like most.
You can still submit entry's how ever I am narrowing down the current ones.
Top Shelf Flooring
Cutting Edge Flooring
A Cut Above Flooring

September 2 2009 11:13 PM EDT
Jedi Flooring(or Master Flooring)- "May the Floors be with you" (cant believe no one else thought of that :P )
Granite & Gold Standard Flooring.(sisters suggestion)
Stoned Flooring- (Depends on the type of floors you install.)
We 'B' Flooring / or We 'B' Floored
September 2 2009 11:43 PM EDT
I don't think you should underestimate "Pro"... Give this to the person who brought that in, but something like a one-word "ProFloor" or "FloorPro" could work...
I agree about staying away from words like "Budget", but the words Quality, Pro, Expert, and Master are still good... Some more one-word ideas:
I really like Floor2Floor -- such a great symmetry for "Wall to wall". You could even use "Wall2Wall Flooring" or somesuch...

Sorry, have some more:
DuraFloor (might be a brand name already?)
The Floor Guy(s)
Floor Elite (sounds like "Fur Elise", sort of)
Bottom Line Flooring (maybe sounds cheap, though)
On The Level Flooring
And now I have to be good and right and proper for all of my crazy names to make it through the spell checker. I hope you like some of my suggestions!
It has been a pleasure serving your naming needs!

If any are repeats don't bother telling me.
"Dirty Sexy Flooring"
That's...an awesome name. 100% inappropriate, but wow. I'd call.

Gun is a big stealer. If you go with "On The Level", be sure to search the thread top down, first. *wink*

Floor From Thor!
Okay now I'm getting ridiculous. But, if you decide to go with the last one, you absolutely have to have a very big hammer with you everything you visit a client.
Floors R Us
Lay me down flooring
Floors can do
(and you probably don't want to go with Board Stiff!)

To Sut for Cutting edge floors.....a lot of entry's were excellent.
Thank you everyone for your kind and thoughtful suggestion.
September 3 2009 11:52 PM EDT
Congrats to Sut, and good luck to AK with the business.
Also, don't forget that you can probably find a CB player tech-savvy enough to whip up a website using a template that still looks professional and sleek.
