Speaking of NCB's (in General)

When I'm done running mine I have a problem. NW, so forging will probably happen. Never thought I'd end up a statistic :). Anyways I can't figure out if I should forge then come back to the character and keep doing it like that or just forge up like 100mil or something along those lines, and go ahead and sink it into a new team slowly. I have some gear, but I need some still and a new strategy if I do that.

So I'll go back to my first question. I'd rather not restart, but since I need to forge would it be more beneficial?

how big is your tat now?

[Jedi] Danludar September 10 2009 1:04 PM EDT

A Tattoo of Augmentation lvl 1,657,660

Max tattoo : 1,902,101

Not done with the NCB, but I enjoy planning ahead :).

i would likely think more of making another ncb run and dumping that money into gear, just using your natural ba regen to get more tat growth as well.

if you are only hitting about half of your natural regen anyways, i don't think that forging would be any more profitable.

That's the plan I don't buy BA, waste of money in my eyes.

Well forging would be my way to get the money ahead of time, slow monetary gains of money during the course of my growth to ATTEMPT to keep my character running is quite annoying once he gets behind.

I think when you would now start an NCB, you would end up with higher than the 1 mil MPR you have now :)

NooneKnows September 10 2009 3:07 PM EDT

buying BA = buying EXP = buying MPR. it's only a waste if you don't want to grow faster :) NCB BA is undoubtedly expensive, but it's definitely worth it, at least for EXP time (in my eyes).

I was never any good at the strategy in this game, but I find forging therapeutic. I can't wait to get this NCB over with and get back to it.

back on topic - it would be easier to answer your question if we know what your goal is. bigger tat? better gear? top 50 character?

what do you want out of the game?

"Well forging would be my way to get the money ahead of time"

Except that forging IS NOT a good way to get money -- just fighting is a better way to make CB$, almost always. Now, if you said "pile up a lot of NW", and if you _also_ could not fight against positive-challenge-bonus targets at all... then you just might barely have a point, you could just barely pile up more NW by forging instead of fighting and blacksmithing it all up.
But still, ideally, the best way to get high NW is to fight against 100%CB targets and let somebody else forge your gear at low-ish rates :))

I fight targets somewhere in the 5%-30% CB region most of the time lately, and I made some calculations for my own gear (the pieces that can be forged, that is, most of my gear can't)... I'm about breaking even in added NW by fighting and using the blacksmith vs by forging (ever so slightly more by forging)... but by fighting, I also get higher tattoo levels and MPR, so the choice is obvious either way.

I see everyone's points. I always enjoyed forging, but I never saw a purpose for the cash other than to put it back into a character. With our system without restarting a NCB its not really possible to take breaks.

I guess my next point is gonna be this. What is a cheap strategy I can run to make money. PURELY money with almost no investment into other than initial gear.

Admindudemus [jabberwocky] September 10 2009 9:31 PM EDT

do you have any gear already?

FailBoat[SG] [Forever Alone] September 10 2009 9:33 PM EDT

Dano. Run another NCB first to get your Tat up near the 4mil mark. It shouldn't be too hard. I'm going to be doing the same thing with my current style of team to get Wrath up higher. And I don't buy BA.

[Jedi] Danludar September 10 2009 9:48 PM EDT

Tat should be somewhere around there when this one is over, I don't see why it wouldn't be. I have a lot of tank gear. Some wall gear. And I'm gonna have corn and whatnot soon. I don't wanna invest more than 10mil in initial gear then whatever I need for NW ups is fine.
