something weird with junctioned jig (in General)

MonkeyMandate [Wasting Time] October 1 2009 4:26 AM EDT

I just noticed something weird with my junctioned jig. the other day it had 300 pth and had reached 4mil str, however with no change in equipment, it has dropped down to 298 pth and 3.9 mil str.

was wondering if anyone would have an idea on why or how this would of happened. the only thing i have down is untrained the str that was on the junction minion but that wouldn't explain the drop as it was more.

also still way under encumberance.

Was it named before? It's not now.

MonkeyMandate [Wasting Time] October 1 2009 5:09 AM EDT

nope wasn't named

Adminedyit [Superheros] October 1 2009 5:19 AM EDT

you mentioned junctioned, i thought junction worked 90% of the time, did the drop come when thins weren't being junctioned?

AdminQBGentlemanLoser [{END}] October 1 2009 5:27 AM EDT

+9 AoJ work like +10. ;) NS never initiated the 90%.

I think +8's are still 80% though. :/

Was this something to do with an opponents EC? Maybe it caused you to go under your ENC?

MonkeyMandate [Wasting Time] October 1 2009 5:30 AM EDT

its a named AoJ so it has full 100%.

not from EC as its with every opponent, and familiars aren't affected by ENC aren't they?

blackshadowshade October 1 2009 5:36 AM EDT

Familiars are not affected by encumbrance, but if you're junctioning UC across, it's important that the carrying minion is not encumbered, otherwise, the amount of UC junctioned across is less.

MonkeyMandate [Wasting Time] October 1 2009 5:56 AM EDT

ok. i'm sure thats not the problem though as only got 40 or so mil NW on that minion and over 120mil encumberance limit

{Wookie}-Jir.Vr- October 1 2009 6:04 AM EDT

Enemy EC?

AdminNemesia [Demonic Serenity] October 1 2009 11:06 AM EDT

It is because you have HG that you are junctioning over. By untraining your str you are actually lowering the amount of + that you are junctioning over of those HG because it rounds to the actual str increase on the minion not the + of the HG if you train your str up to 100 you will get that increase back.

blackshadowshade October 1 2009 11:11 AM EDT

It's probably a good idea to train your DX to 100 also, for a similar reason.

Admindudemus [jabberwocky] October 1 2009 11:14 AM EDT

i do believe nem is correct and he had given me that advice on kwai chang as well.

MonkeyMandate [Wasting Time] October 1 2009 11:25 AM EDT

yep that fixed the problem. cheers

AdminQBGentlemanLoser [{END}] October 1 2009 4:07 PM EDT

Why did STR effect the PTH?

And how does Trained STR get Junctioned over? :/

Cube October 1 2009 4:12 PM EDT

There is a bug where item bonuses are only junctioned over in chunks of 5% if your stats are at 20.

AdminNemesia [Demonic Serenity] October 1 2009 4:47 PM EDT

Its not a bug. What happens is that junction works off of the intrinsics themselves rather than the actual equipment. What it copies over is the effect instead of a real copy of the equipment. So with stat boosting gear it looks at the increase on the minion if it has 20 str base and gets increased to 25 str then it sees a 25% increase to str and works off of that 25% increased by 150% which makes 37.5% and that is the boost that the familiar gets. The minion may actually be getting a 28% increase to str but it only sees a 25% increase. Just training str and dex to a base of 100 makes this trouble go away.

AdminQBGentlemanLoser [{END}] October 1 2009 4:50 PM EDT

But then having that intrinsic over 100 should supply more of a stat boost?

And how does this effect PTH?

AdminNemesia [Demonic Serenity] October 1 2009 4:59 PM EDT

Over 100 would change nothing at all. This is because a partial stat increase rounds down and it is increased in increments of 1% which means that at 100 each increase will keep the % increase accurate as a ratio. The reason that the str was effecting the amount of pth is because he has HG junctioned. The primary effect of the HG is a str increase which means that when it checks to see how big they were it was rounding off a bit from the HG because it only saw so much increase to str.

AdminQBGentlemanLoser [{END}] October 2 2009 3:13 AM EDT

o_O

Well that would probably have invalidated all my testing when Junction was changed to an amulet! LoL!

This is a wierd bug.

Cube October 2 2009 5:43 AM EDT

It's a bug if it doesn't work as intended.. doesn't matter if you can explain it or not. There's no reason it has to work that way.

AdminTitan [The Sky Forge] October 2 2009 7:41 AM EDT

Just because it seems to be odd to you doesn't mean it is not working as intended ... :)
