Q about evasion. (in General)

I was reading something in the wiki:

"The factors for the ranged rounds multiply the effective level, and not the effect. For example, an Evasion of level 846,713 and an effect of 100 would be multiplied by 2.2 in the first round of ranged to give 2.2*846,713 = 1,862,769 Evasion for an effect of 137, rather than 2.2*100 = 220."

I thought that the effect was multiplied by the missile multiplier and not the level then reconverted to a new level. In the case above, the effect would in fact be 220 and not 137.

IIRC, this was discussed for a bit during the super powerful evasion era of CB.

Do I misremember?

I believe that at 1 point it was multiplying the effect instead of the level. But for a significant period of time now it has been multiplying the level rather than the effect.
