Walmart vs Verizon? (in Off-topic)

It appears that Walmart is taking a competing stance:

The main part is this:

$45 a month:
Unlimited minutes
unlimited text
unlimited mobile web access
Nationwide coverage

Unlimited web access for that price? Granted, the phones will be sub-par, but that's still some needed competition.

Walmart, destroying competition one industry at a time.

Oh, yeah, Slayer, because the phone companies are known to be fair and balanced, right?

This will save me 10 bucks a month. So I'm all for it. And I'll be able to use it outside of Atlanta! Ha!

Once they get the iphone capability, I am all in.

Verizon nickels and dimes consumers with junk rates. They actually blocked WiFi capability in phones to herd consumers into overpriced data plans (they now allow it, but only if you pay for data plans). The reason they can do that is because of thin competition. I use Verizon, but I'm a cheerleader for Walmart's new rates. Hopefully this will get Verizon to drop the cost of data plans and for features such as visual voicemail. Competition is good.

Verizon has crap rates and crap customer service. I just went through a two-week long war with them over a new phone I just got, so I'm especially displeased with them right now.

However, they are the only company whose phones get quality, consistent reception in this area, so I'll be sticking with them. I'd rather overpay for something that works than pay for something that doesn't.

Speaking of crapizon, I recently purchased a game via their app store, that was completely compatible with my phone... only to have it fail to download... The error was, "Download size does not match description". or something...

Then it wont let me re download it, without repurchasing it. PFFFTTT

The Iphone and its app store rules.

When another company aside from AT&T gets it, I will consider changing.

But till then, I like my current phone too much.

iPhones have the tendency to blow them selfs up. Its called iExplode. And it happened several times.

as a loyal verizon user for several years now i was rather displeased with their new calling plans which i was forced to move to so i could upgrade my phone.

instead of being able to view my pic and video messages free of charge i was now being charged to download those messages to the tune of $8/month in Mb charges.....what the hell is right about that??? i am not happy and have been exploring other carriers but verizon and us cellular work the best in the area and us cellular has crap phones and lousy customer service. at least verizon cust serv has always fixed my problems promptly. i just do not like the road their business practices are taking them down.

i say walmart should try to step into the ring with some of these carriers and maybe they will bring some competition back to the industry. $45/month is certainly better than the $65 i am paying now.

btw i ended up getting the data plan which added $15/month to my bill but at least i can surf the web now and actually it only cost me an extra $7 since i would be paying $8 for my messages anyways..... it still sucks though
