Post summaries, by Marlfox (in Off-topic)

In an effort to curb growing post sizes, I've decided to give a helping hand to us post-skimmers.
So, is there an annoyingly long post in the forums that you just can't be bothered to read but would like to understand what's going on? Fear not! Post summaries are here to save the day! Here's the format:

Post summary: [Time] [Post author]

  • Point 1
  • Point 2
  • Point 3

  • Look for them in a thread near you. (Also, I'll now be awarding a small prize (likely $5k) to posts I think should be read in their full splendor.)

    Thanks?

    Poor Sutekh...

I pity (far more) anyone who tries to summarize my points. If you do it right, you'll often discover why my posts are so long to begin with, and if you do it wrong, well, pity won't be enough to protect you.

In other words, you can't compress and MP3 file much, no matter how long the song. *smile*

Tell that to the Reduced Shakespear Company! :P

I really would not like one of my posts summarized. I think summaries miss a lot of the key points and logic behind ones statements.

    Too late.

    Summarizing has begun...

Summarizing can just as easily end if no one likes it. (I'm only doing it for General threads, anyway.)
