ok i will admit i'm one of few who would love a free retrain but i understand why everyone is so against it cause it does disrupt alot of things like people's fightlists and such with everyone changing things up. So i was thinking how about for each day of the year a character is randomly picked and granted the ability to retrain with out penalty. It would be only one character each day and a character can only be picked once per year. It means eventually all characters would get the chance to retrain free of charge and it would keep fightlist changes for all players to a minimum considering most fightlist have no more than say 20 characters on it

Interesting thought, but that seems an awful lot like a lottery to me (like the current, oft-reviled drop system). If I won the "free retrain lotto" on a day I didn't need to retrain anything, I'd be non-plussed, especially is an opponent had just finished bonus time (for example) and got lucky on the chance to freely retrain when his/her name came up in the lottery.
That doesn't even mention things like simply missing the day you are picked, or not having time to properly use the time.
That's my initial take, anyway...

I only "liked" free retrains when there was a large change month. And we all know nothing has changed for almost a year now.
Except for nice features such as the drop system :0
