I know a story of someone trick or treating. It was a young boy of about 12 years old. This year he would trick or treat somewhere in a rich people's neighbourhood close to his families house.

At that night it was a bit foggy, hard to see the neighbours at the other side of the road. He knocked at the door of the house on the far right side of it. The lady of the house opened and immediately felt scared by the young boy.

He was covered in blood, real blood so it seemed. He didn't shout trick or treat but instead he just held out a big bag where hit candy could go in, or something else... The lady asked him if he wanted candy but he didn't talk, it was like the child was in shock.

She walked into the house to get a towel and clean the kid up. When she came back, the boy was standing in the door opening, gazing against her, still holding the bag in front of him. Hesitantly, she dropped in it some candy she and her husband had bought the other day especially for Halloween.

There was something really strange about the boy though, she couldn't quite get it. The bag he carried was hardly filled but it looked like it weighed a lot. She put the bag away, not noticing something rolling inside of it. She started to clean the boys face and arms which were covered in something which looked like blood, human blood.

The boy wasn't bleeding, and she couldn't figure it out. She asked the boy where he got that fake blood but he wouldn't answer clearly. The boy kept on telling her he got it from her husband. She got scared again and went to the bathroom for another towel.

While in the bathroom she took out her mobile phone and called the police. She explained what she had seen and asked them to patrol the area to see if something was wrong. The police told her that they would send out a patrol car and look around.

Entering the living room again, the boy was gone. There were bloody footsteps in the entry of the house, but apart from that, not a single trace of him. The bag was still there, something round inside of it. Must be his football she thought.

"Just open it if you are so curious ma'am", the boy called out from behind her. He came out of the kitchen. He was more clean than she remembered but also looked a bit shorter than before. "Go on, just look inside of it, I know you are curious to see all my candy."

She looked towards the bag again and hesitated. She looked at the boy, now walking slowly towards her with a small friendly smile on his face. Curious as she was, she decided to look in the bag.

When she opened the bag and looked inside of it, horror struck her heart. Inside of the bag, was the chopped off head of her husband, the eyes removed. She wanted to scream but looked at the boy first. He held something and presented it to her, a long kitchen knife from her own kitchen.

He stabbed her in her neck, she couldn't scream or make any sound any more. He stabbed a few times more and then left her in her doorway opening bleeding. He grabbed his bag and walked outside.

Nobody has ever seen the boy again, his family reported him missing the day after but the police could never find him or the head of the husband of the lady. Rumours have it that the kid does not age, and picks new towns to trick or treat in.

I had to go out on Beggar's Night so I left an orange and black plastic pail on the front step. It was filled with Nutty Bars. When I returned home, it was gone.

Greedy brats: They stole my bucket.
