Dead pages getting revived (in General)

Brakke Bres [Ow man] November 14 2009 5:24 PM EST

These pages:

Tattoo of Endurance (ToE) version changed by Sasori567

... version changed by sweetkora

have been revived a couple of times now, I don't know if its on purpose or if its done accidentally.

I presume its been done accidentally but I like to find out why, if nubs accidentally end up on those pages there should be a link somewhere. I know its not in the wiki otherwise it should show up on the page itself. So I presuming that on CB is a link that these new players click on and end up on these dead pages.

But where?

What's the purpose or reason for having the dead pages?

AdminNemesia [Demonic Serenity] November 14 2009 5:28 PM EST

I think what happens is they click them because they show up in the resent changes.

Demi, the reason and purpose for dead page is when the information the page contains becomes obsolete, then the page can be removed from the active pages. This prevents cluttering of the wiki with obsolete info/pages

Could be Nem, but when you click on the dead page the next page says: " This page is dead. You can view the last live version and decide if you want to revive it from there. "

So this warning notifies the user that the page is dead and thus no longer useful. The user has really no purpose on clicking that link.

And the page got revived again, stop clicking it already. If you have nothing to bring to the wiki then dont click dead links

" and decide if you want to revive it from there. "

That's what they are doing, even if it is counter productive :)

Maybe Jon or NS can go through and actually remove all the dead pages from memory?

Brakke Bres [Ow man] November 16 2009 6:00 PM EST

uh shade, if the guys that revived it made it dead again, fine.

But you click the page good, don't click the second link. Not even to see what is in it!

Bres, I just saw your response, and what I meant to ask is pretty much what Titan said. I didn't know if there was a purpose for still having the dead pages show up in the searches. If they're unavoidable, could we at least send a redirect to the modern page?
