Closing Threads (in Debates)

Well, since threads are just closing right and left, I thought I'd put this over in Debates so at least it doesn't get shut down.

Debate question:

Why did so many threads get closed just now?

Oh, and I fined myself for using inappropriate language, and wanted to make clear my use of the word that rhymes with "angina" wasn't me CALLING anyone that. I was just trying to be funny.

Well, I was having fun posting this morning, but I guess that's done. I'm outta here.

I asked for them to be closed. I am tired of CB being full of drama and personal attacks... its a game, let other people do what they want as long as they are following the rules of the game.

It's obvious they got closed for personal attacks.
And there is too much fighting/argueing/attacking in the forums.
Makes perfect sense they got closed.

Sut I would venture a guess that the threads were closed because they were steadily decaying in both tone and quality.

Honestly, I read both (of the main ones here) only because it was like watching a car crash. There was nothing productive beyond increase sales of torches and pitchforks that I saw in any of it. Both threads started out with a reasonable premise and had they been confined to debate on those topics I venture they would not have been closed.

Overall I am not a big fan of censorship.... in this case I am really not bothered by it.

I closed them because those threads go from expressing someones point of view to discussion to arguments to snide remarks to personal insults.

More and more people tend to dislike this.

On a side note however, people always will find a way to start one over in a (much) more proper way. I am merely closing them down to cease hostilities, not to try to censor otherwise I'd delete them.

I think dealing with individuals rather than threads might be better.
