To Forge, Blacksmith or Hire...? (in General)

Hey guys, I got low MPR arround 80k... I want to upgrade my weapons, but I am not sure if I shoudl spend my BA to get both exp and gold then BS or use it to forge... I think that the best for now would be to keep fighting with my BA even though I don't have NCB.

Another option would be to have someone else forge for me as it would be exactly like BS but at lower costs. Thing is am I sure that no forger would do a job of 300k NW raise... And it could even be a loss compared to BSing as I would loose control of my item for some time.

What do you guys think would be best?

My suggestion for you is to start an NCB and not buy any BA. This will get you a decent MPR character and you can make good money during the run. At your current MPR, you will not be able to forge effectively and the rewards are not worth staying and fighting that low.

Just my 2 cents. :)

Start an NCB rack up some money.

Cue GentlemanLoser and JohnnyWas (or go CM both of them), they've got a fair few NCB runs without buying BA.

I would like to stress the fact that Kenme is a 01-01-05 started character and laugh at me if you want I do want him as my main for that particular reason.

So unless you state that making an NCB char to pump up MPR and then use him to forge for my main would still be better than focusin on my main, I prefer not to use that option.

Sure, just run an NCB and get money and forge the gear then go back to your other character with improved gear and enough money to sustain you :).

I'm curious as to how much is enough money to sustain you ?

would you care to put a dollar amount on that?

for future reference :)

I might, but I need to pay bills real quick first.

Shark: at his MPR with no bonus, then just enough to get some base-ish "rare" items would be enough. Unless you use a ToA or have a bonus, you'll be able to stay pretty close to your encumbrance limit for a good while. With a bonus, there's I'd guess somewhere about 350-500m or so to "sustain" you all the way up if you're keeping your gear at strong levels for your power.

Though that presents another issue is with strategy... many can be run with very little net worth and only a small handful of rares, whereas others require a massive tattoo coupled with a few hundred million required net worth to run efficiently, and about 30 million and one strategies with costs in between...
