Dollhouse (in Off-topic)

[P]Mitt January 15 2010 10:07 PM EST

Holy .... If you haven't seen this week's dollhouse, SEE IT (or watch it, if you're not on the East Coast)

It's freaking AMAZING.

2 more weeks until the season finale. Wow.

AdminG Beee January 15 2010 10:14 PM EST

Discovered it a while back and have been keeping up with you guys in the states via download.

It's one of the few TV series that I go out of my way to watch.

kevlar January 15 2010 10:51 PM EST

I haven't heard of it before, will definitely check it out.

AdminQBnovice [Cult of the Valaraukar] January 15 2010 10:57 PM EST

Joss Whedon's latest unloved offspring...

I think I'll have to start from the beginning before I jump in.

kevlar January 15 2010 11:05 PM EST

Eliza Dushku? Umm ya will definitely give it a go ;)

[P]Mitt January 15 2010 11:06 PM EST

Yes, definitely. Start from the beginning.

I have to warn you, Season 1, episodes 3-6/7ish could be better, but trust me when I say this, it's worth watching them when you see later episodes.

Season 2 starting from episode 4 (4 is one of my favorite episodes) onwards have all been knock-your-socks-off good.

QBRanger January 15 2010 11:12 PM EST

Yes,

Watched from the beginning.

Just finished the episode with the Senator and the Handler. Have about 4 hours Tivo'd.

However it should be 2 more weeks till the SERIES finale.

It will not be back for a 3rd season :(

Lord Bob January 16 2010 12:59 AM EST

Dollhouse is amazing.

TheHatchetman January 16 2010 1:00 AM EST

I still haven't gotten around to seeing how they managed to continue Weeds after the first season ended. Last I remember, they ended 30 seconds before mommy and homeboy were dead, big son is doing some major time, and little son was running away to find a spaceship with Trish...

Dollhouselooks interesting enough to check it out. If it's really that good, it won't stay canceled. Futurama much? :P

Tell that to Firefly.

Live action shows are different than cartoons.

QBJohnnywas January 16 2010 3:55 AM EST

Sigh. Firefly. Otherwise known as Whedon's Adventures Of Han Solo. One of my favourite series ever. And special for introducing me to Christina Hendricks. Ah.

AdminQBGentlemanLoser [{END}] January 16 2010 11:52 AM EST

Firefly was Whedon's best. Far superior to Dollhouse.

QBRanger January 17 2010 11:04 PM EST

The only show I can say is as good, if not better for overall plot is Babylon 5.

QBRanger January 22 2010 10:33 PM EST

Wow,

Just finished the attic episode. Just wow.

QBsutekh137 January 23 2010 12:43 AM EST

"Angel" ended with one of the best finales I've seen, still. Sure, the series stumbled, but not as badly as Buffy, and we'll never know how Firefly would have turned out.

Jubal Early: Does that make sense to you?

[P]Mitt January 29 2010 9:08 PM EST

Season Finale, if you haven't seen Epitaph One, is a little different.

If you have seen Epitaph One, it's on the same level of amazing.

Watch it.

QBRanger January 29 2010 9:12 PM EST

Do I need to see part 1 before the series finale?

Ancient Anubis January 29 2010 9:13 PM EST

buffy stumbled i don't think so angel was a much more hit and miss show than buffy. Buffy has and will always be in my opinion be one of the best series ever along with stargate :) Best episode angel had was the one were he turned into a puppet that was hilarious.

[P]Mitt January 29 2010 9:16 PM EST

No, you don't have to see it. Since it's set in the future, it has a different feel to it.

I meant to say it was similar to the Season 1 finale - different, but amazing.

Vaynard [Fees Dirt Cheap] January 29 2010 10:51 PM EST

This thread makes me miss Firefly. How one of the best shows of all time can be canceled like that still makes me hate the networks.

How can one show be universally revered by everyone I ever talk to online and yet still not be watched enough to be brought back?

Lord Bob January 30 2010 12:16 AM EST

The finale was great.

AdminQBGentlemanLoser [{END}] January 30 2010 8:22 AM EST

Even if Serenity 'retconned' some fluff for the sake of new viewers. ;)

And Sute;

"Are you Alliance?"
"A Lion? No but I've got a mighty roar!"

(I loved Jayne in that episode. It all kicks off, and you see Jayne wake, rip down the blanket covering his guns, and you think, "uh oh, here he goes to kick bottom!", when he just uses it to cover himself and go back to sleep!)

AdminQBGentlemanLoser [{END}] January 30 2010 8:22 AM EST

Oh and Firefly still
Dollhouse. ;)

AdminQBGentlemanLoser [{END}] January 30 2010 8:22 AM EST

lol! That should have been the greater than sign! :P

QBJohnnywas January 30 2010 8:24 AM EST

All this talk of Firefly makes me want to watch it again. George Lucas should watch that instead of being inspired by Avatar as he apparently is.

Do we really need a 3d rework of Star Wars??!?!?

QBJohnnywas January 30 2010 9:05 AM EST

I also really loved Farscape...

QBRanger January 30 2010 9:18 AM EST

Farscape...

That brings back memories.

I watched it until it went off the air for a while and never really advertised when it was coming back. I think I watched for 3 seasons.

Great premise but degenerated a bit near the end.

The best of all series I think was Babylon 5. Very tight plot except the last 1/2 of the 5th year due to a contract dispute making Claudia Christian leave.

AdminQBGentlemanLoser [{END}] January 30 2010 9:28 AM EST

B5 was great. First series to really have an on going plot. JMS is awesome.

But, the end of the Shadow War sucked so much.

QBJohnnywas January 30 2010 9:28 AM EST

I loved Babylon 5, some of those were amazing tv.
