TOA Idea (in General)

what do people reckon of a slight alteration to the TOA i was thinking of possibly this

40% ST
40% DX
10% Skill
30% NW into weapon PTH

from

50% ST
33% DX
33% NW into weapon PTH

I would like to see a change like that, becomes more helpful to a larger number of strats.

Wraithlin February 5 2010 6:15 PM EST

It would really hurt EC users, it's already tough trying to use EC as an anti-tank weapon, this would make it near impossible.

But otherwise I don't see anything too bad with it.

Ancient Anubis February 5 2010 6:17 PM EST

how would it hurt ec users st is reduced so ec has a greater effect against st which also means greater effect on enc?

Wraithlin February 5 2010 7:29 PM EST

EC for combating high STR is a waste of XP in my mind. I use it to control DEX to force less hits, combined with an evasion minion.

Zenai [Cult of the Valaraukar] February 5 2010 7:39 PM EST

It's still a viable option Wraithlin just not so much with the same thoughts on it as you. IAA it is an interesting twist on what it can do. I will say this though ppl already complain about how much this tattoo can do are you sure you want to add more to it's capabilities?

Ancient Anubis February 5 2010 9:03 PM EST

overall the % come out at only 4% more although NW is harder to compare to exp, but the figure is in comparison to the ToA we have now and i think people wouldn't mind the change considering the hamper to enc which is most vital for a tank. Plus it makes it more worthwhile for UC minions as well as melee tanks along with archery tanks.

What Skill?

It trains STR/DEX independantly of the Stats of the user, and the same should apply to it's Skill.

I take it you're suggesting that it adds 10% into whatever skill that minion has trained, but then what about a minion that doesn't have a skill trained, or is using something like AP?

QBJohnnywas February 6 2010 3:44 AM EST

So somebody could end up having a free archery where some of the bigger tattoos are concerned. No!!!

Ancient Anubis February 6 2010 5:36 AM EST

no u couldn't have free archery cause u still need to train it to compensate for trained st and item bonuses it would only match the st given by the tat. If it has AP then thats the decision of the user.

AdminQBGentlemanLoser [{END}] February 6 2010 6:06 AM EST

It would also be increased by any DEX gear you wore, just like the DEX from the ToA.

QBJohnnywas February 6 2010 6:14 AM EST

You would still have to train the skill yes, but the average big archer uses a fair sized amount of XP into their archery. A 12 mill level ToA would give you 1.2 mill into that skill, which for an archer capable of wearing that tattoo would probably mean only having to train a base skill.

Even a tattoo of the size of mine (just under 6 mill lvls) would give me over half a mill into my skill. Add my elven gear and I would never have to train more than base archery.

I don't think archers need any more advantages.

I actually think the skill boost wouldn't be based upon the tat's level but instead give the bonus to the trained skill.
I.e it works in the same way as the other armours.
