So, tournaments, scoresink? (in General)

Perhaps this was addressed, if it has could someone fill me in? Generally looking for if people for example make a load of chars that take score from the rest of the game and those chars then get retired wouldn't that mean each tournament saps score from everyone?
Im guessing this has already been addressed and sorted?
there is already a plan should it become a problem...

It indeed is a problem... Only way to keep decent challenge bonus in the earlier ranks is to be highly specialized, using at least a couple forms of OP, and manipulating score by either retraining while equipping grossly oversized weaponry, or having someone else gimp a character so that you can beat it.
Seconding that it is a problem.
I could go find some 1M+ MPR teams with 300-400K Score if you want.
It makes a mockery of the low game.
The plan I devised for this was to have a separate score used for tourneys that would be reset at the beginning of each tournament.
So char X has a score of 1m at the start of a t
He's attacked and his T-Score is taken down to 500k
The chars "real" score remains at a mil and the only characters using the 500k score are in the current tourney. Upon the start of the next tournament his score will once again be a mil (assuming it hasn't changed in the game itself)
Sounds cool, but we also need a fix for the eisting teams, especially abandonned ones that are low due to being stripped of Equipment.
There are some teams that should really have been auto retired due to low score, but haven't, for some reason...

Sounds good nov, an needed pretty asap with tournaments having such large bonuses + starting exp
Bananco : Explain what you mean
I think he's pointing out that the fights from the tourney generate score, however without the ability for normal chars to attack the T chars it's never returned to the real game.
I'm not sure what Jon or NS were looking to see before attempting to implement it, but as we keep having awesome tourneys I'm sure we'll find out.
i agree that it already is a major problem. i still think that score needs to auto-trend towards a teams mpr if that team isn't actively fighting. if a team is fighting then the normal score system would kick in. this shouldn't be instantaneous but a process that happens over time.

Unfortunately they are done and gone forever. But with the new system that's being discussed, the chars created in the same manner in the future will show more longevity.
Teams like this;
Eremite
Score 564,302
Power 2,123,964
MPR 2,084,840
That score is well below half his MPR. This team sohuld be auto retired, shoudn't it?
i seem to remember a statement by jon that supporters will not get auto-retired. did i dream that?
My banks (with no minions) have been randomly auto retired from time to time.
If abandonded supporter characters aren't subject to auto retire, maybe they should be.
you did dude...
I believe score has to be closer to 1/10th mpr to qualify for autoretire...

GL: care to explain how that is possible when they have no minions? characters with 0 MPR never are (or should be) auto retired.
You tell me mate. ;) It's happened (rarely) to a couple of people in the past, myself included.

Wish I could, my 1 mpr character has never been auto retired so I myself can't seem to reproduce it :)

Score should be bottom-capped at 1/2 of MPR (no more auto-retires) and should auto-regenerate to PR at a rate of 5% of PR per cache flush :)

This tournament really shows the damage tournaments currently doing,

Including one of my targets who just went from 70% odd bonus to 14%, that score will take a very long time to recover... if at all ? Not sure how score regen exactly works, but surely if a tournament char takes that score then it's gone?
Its only gone if the character is no longer played. Score recovers fast up to your PR.
If you are fighting that is.

What I dont like about the score system, is that when/if I retrain the stats.. my score sinks (went to 0 when I did a total retraining once)..
I guess that it makes sense if I kept the character around without skills for some days.. but I feel that when I retrain quickly, I should not be punished both with exp loss and score loss. (I have a hard time figuring out a good strategy and I have made a lot of retraining and had to fire a minion as well :( .

Elite :
-
Char A has 100 score
Char B has 1mil score
-
--
Char A beats B
Char B now has 250K score
Char A has 500K score
--
---
Char A is retired as the tournament finishes
Cha B now has 250K score, 750K less than it had a few days ago
---
By my eyes that means 750K score has vanished from the score system, no?
It has so long as Character B is no longer playing. But if character B gets back on after the tourney and his PR is 2 million, after a few fights he will be back to somewhere around one and two million score.

And where would he get that from? Other chars...
Net result : everyone loses score
Score transfer isn't a zero sum transaction.
Yeah....PR kinda spawns score in a strange way.
But, it will lower the score of everyone effected, which will in turn lower rewards, which will lower growth.
All becuase of a noew retired Tourny Character.
There was something in the works to fix this, but I still would like to see score removed from Reward calculations, as it's far too 'game-able'.
Leave Score as the measure of how well you're doing in CB.
