Zenai [Cult of the Valaraukar] March 3 2010 7:06 AM EST

Oy that sucks! Good to have you here more ,but, bad the reason is because of Chicken Pox :-/ Get well soon bro!

Demigod March 3 2010 7:08 AM EST

Adult case of the pox? Best of luck with the next two weeks.

QBJohnnywas March 3 2010 7:09 AM EST

I can fight and scratch at the same time!!!

QBJohnnywas March 3 2010 7:10 AM EST

Yup, adult pox. It's quite mild right now, but we're keeping our fingers crossed!

InebriatedArsonist March 3 2010 7:13 AM EST

I had it when I was rather young, so I don't remember much beyond scratching. Have fun, JW.

AdminQBGentlemanLoser [{END}] March 3 2010 7:23 AM EST

O_O

I got it at 18, and it was one of the worst cases my Doctor had seen.

Luckily Emma hasn't caught it yet, I'm worried about getting again. :/

How's Alfie doing?

QBJohnnywas March 3 2010 7:25 AM EST

He hasn't got it yet, but we're waiting. It can only be a matter of time. Although I didn't get it at all through childhood despite exposure to it on many occasions.

Areodjarekput March 3 2010 10:01 AM EST

My parents had me get it intentionally when I was a kid to avoid the chance of shingles, the much more severe and painful form of chicken pox. One of my uncles got shingles when I was sixteen, and I thanked my parents for making sure I wouldn't have it.

I wish you luck, sir.

Sleep... tell the doctor you'd like to crawl into a hole for the next week and only wake up once a day.

BootyGod March 3 2010 10:55 AM EST

I do believe once you've had Chickenpox, you cannot catch it again. Something about developing an immunity or some such.

Could be wrong, though.

QBJohnnywas March 3 2010 10:58 AM EST

Unfortunately I've never had it before.

But also unfortunately it is possible to get it a second time. Rare, but not totally unusual. My sister has had it twice. We used to say she got my share!

Joel March 3 2010 7:32 PM EST

I had two mild cases of Chicken Pox when I was young. Once when I was 5 and another when I was 6. I hope that gives me a super immunity :p

Admiralkiller [Cult of the Valaraukar] March 3 2010 7:37 PM EST

I also had it when I was young but I was told that it's better to have it when your young, because when you get it while older if may affect your sperm count. (could be an old wives tale)

Kompton Kidd March 3 2010 7:42 PM EST

Isn't adult chickenpox supposed to be serious?

Salketer [big bucks] March 3 2010 8:27 PM EST

Chicken pox can only be caught once. There are rare random cases where it happens more than once in a lifetime but usually, only once. That is indeed why parents try to make sure their kids catch it when they are young since the older you get the more sever it is.

Good luck with that scratching man.

InebriatedArsonist March 3 2010 9:34 PM EST

My mother said that I was around four years old when I had a rather itchy case chicken pox, so that fits with my memories. For anyone else who hasn't had the disease and has entered adulthood, there is a vaccine available.

TrueDevil [AAA] March 3 2010 9:56 PM EST

Well, I had the chicken pox when I was studying abroad in Australia. It was the first few weeks that I came to Australia too, I was around 19 years old at that time.

It was quite terrible, because I was away from my parents, and the itch is unbearable, I had quite a lot of marks here and there now.. even some on the face. (sort of combination with the acne)

kevlar March 3 2010 10:36 PM EST

I'm glad you don't have shingles >:] Get well soon, JDub
