NS / CPC / Whoever - Feature Request (in General)

Vicious Cat March 10 2010 5:33 PM EST

As I'm accessing CB from a few routes at the moment, I would appreciate some kind of 'scratchpad'.
Just an area of homespace where I can dump a few text reminders instead of losing bits of paper or my phone crashing. With maybe a "Save" button.
Thanks for your time

would the clan wall not work?

AdminNemesia [Demonic Serenity] March 10 2010 5:44 PM EST

^ was my thought as well.

AdminQBnovice [Cult of the Valaraukar] March 10 2010 5:45 PM EST

I too would like to see this again (we kind of had it with the biography field), however I suspect we'd be pointed towards one of the many free websites that do note taking. Maybe there is a greasemonkey script that could accomplish this.

Clan Wall needs work gentlemen. You cannot delete anything, makes for a lot of clutter even if you can edit your own comments.

AdminTitan [The Sky Forge] March 10 2010 5:47 PM EST

NS made a post saying clan leaders can delete stuff, or did I dream that?

Admindudemus [jabberwocky] March 10 2010 5:49 PM EST

he said that if you get an admin in your clan, they can delete them.

Admindudemus [jabberwocky] March 10 2010 5:51 PM EST

the clan wall does need work, but i figured that it would be more efficient to add the option to delete your post & move the add comment button to the top, than to recode a new sticky note feature from scratch.

TheHatchetman March 10 2010 5:53 PM EST

so the cat wants a scratching post, eh? :P

Zenai [Cult of the Valaraukar] March 10 2010 5:53 PM EST

I can tell you from experience no one can delete them but Jon/NS. I had Shade and Edyit in TK II and they cannot delete anything from the Clan Wall.

Zenai [Cult of the Valaraukar] March 10 2010 5:54 PM EST

Have*

Admindudemus [jabberwocky] March 10 2010 6:00 PM EST

if i recall correctly, the admin also needs to be the owner. in effect the delete option only shows up for the clan owner, if that person happens to be an admin then it functions.

Zenai [Cult of the Valaraukar] March 10 2010 6:04 PM EST

Still not practical for use though. Why have it if only an Admin can do anything about it? The Clan Owner should have the ability to delete posts on the Clan Wall regardless of being an Admin or not.

Admindudemus [jabberwocky] March 10 2010 6:08 PM EST

sorry, not sure where you got the idea i think it is fine, functional or even close. i was merely stating what i remember ns saying. i am pretty sure he knows it needs work as well.

as i stated above, i think it might take less work that adding in a new feature entirely. ; )

Vicious Cat March 10 2010 6:12 PM EST

hehe hatch

AdminNightStrike March 10 2010 10:58 PM EST

dude is correct. sorry :(

Eliteofdelete [Battle Royale] March 10 2010 11:01 PM EST

Could send emails to yourself.

AdminNightStrike March 10 2010 11:03 PM EST

I can turn that bio field back on if there's enough interest.

BootyGod March 10 2010 11:13 PM EST

I asked for this years ago and got RAILED.

Still want it, though. A CB notepad is great for a variety of reasons (Namely for people who log on from different locations or some such)

AdminQBnovice [Cult of the Valaraukar] March 11 2010 12:35 AM EST

Turn it back on rename it notes and put the input box on the user page...

Salketer [big bucks] March 11 2010 12:49 AM EST

get Vista...

Salketer [big bucks] March 11 2010 12:50 AM EST

oh nvm... I missed the whole point :)

Wraithlin March 11 2010 9:03 AM EST

updating/fixing the clan wall and having your own notepad are two different subjects altogether.

Your clan doesn't want all your notes to yourself to have to read through.

And it would be awesome if you fixed the clan wall, that way the clan leader could delete all your notes to yourself while you were offline.

I have no use for a personal notepad, but I guess some other people might, shouldn't be that hard to do. I guess in the meantime you can just chatmail yourself.
