Alice in Wonderland @ Imax 3d (in Off-topic)

Meh.

Demigod March 10 2010 6:37 PM EST

It's not just at Imax, there are lots of 3D theaters now. And I saw the movie this weekend. I agree with "meh." Save your money.

AdminQBVerifex March 10 2010 6:48 PM EST

I don't care what the internet says, I hate that stupid word: Meh.
Instead, you can post the Rotten Tomatoes page.

My own opinion is that the movie flow seemed disjointed and I am still not entirely sure how I feel about the main character. Everything about the movie seemed disturbing, but that isn't entirely a bad thing.

Meh is the greatest stolen Yiddish word since glavin! (yes I do know that glavin isn't actually Yiddish)

QBJohnnywas March 10 2010 7:04 PM EST

Nah, zaftig is the greatest Yiddish word.

Meanwhile, those who say 'meh' to Alice; do you normally like Burton's movies?

Myself, I love them, even when I don't.

Demigod March 10 2010 8:18 PM EST

I love most of Burton's movies, but this wasn't the same quality. It had the same level of "dark," but it was just a mess.

The ladies I went to see it with enjoyed it, but I was underwhelmed.

{Wookie}-Jir.Vr- March 10 2010 8:30 PM EST

My GF is a HUGE Alice fan, and was really excited to go see this movie. I was meh. So I took my good friend lucy with us and even with all the added stimulation O.o, the movie seemed sub-par.

Was it pretty? Yes.
Did it have the typical T.B. "feel" (dark)? Yes.
Was it entertaining? I'm not sure.

Maybe I was expecting more, but I would have rather gone and seen Avatar a 5th time. *shrug*.

Maybe worth seeing in theaters once just for the effects // colors (very pretty), but ... meh...

{Wookie}-Jir.Vr- March 10 2010 8:34 PM EST

Double post :O Afterthought: I wouldn't really say I'm a big T.B. fan, I liked Scissor Hands and Nightmare Before Christmas, but on the other hand I HATED Corpse Bride.

^ I completely agree!

I wasn't so crazy about Sweeny Todd either.

AdminNightStrike March 10 2010 10:32 PM EST

I saw it last night (imax version). I was disappointed :(

Especially since I missed imax avatar.

Demigod March 10 2010 10:38 PM EST

Do none of you guys have 3D theaters aside from Imax? Just curious, as there are probably four near me, not including the Imax (which doesn't show blockbusters, as it was built with an educational intent). It seems that all of our theaters are transitioning to 3D, with the exception of the el cheapo discount ones.
