From metal to dub step? Explain! Would understand hardtekk, speed core and especially dark core but dub step?? ;)

(I really don't like dub step and a girl I like is going to a dub step party today - argh!)

PS: Had to seperate most music terms, the spellchecker seriously is not audiophil!

Well, I prefer "grimey" dub, I just love the bass wobbles :D Dr. Philth for example =) Honestly, you have to experience it live to get a feel for it. (and by live I mean a GOOD live show) I wasn't into it much either, then I saw Bassnectar live, and was completely blown away. A good friend of mine was in the similar boat as me at first. Was "meh" about it, then took him to see Excision live, with a bunch of other acts (DIRTY PHONICS!!!!) and now he is just as addicted as me.

You have to have really good subs to appreciate the music, because bass is like 70% of the song. It just sounds weird and boring without the bass :D.

*shrug*

I listen to a lot of Ruckus and Roke, Caspa and Rusko, Number Nin6, Dirty Phonics (DNB/Glitch), Dr. Nimble, Sukh Knight, Datsik, Bassnectar, Pretty Lights, Reso, Dr. Philth, Widdler, etc etc.

Not everyones cup of tea, but you should see some good acts live to really appreciate the genius of it. Go get your skank on!!! (disclaimer, skank is a term used for dancing to dubstep, and or skanking)

:P

dubstep slowly becomes more popular here in The Netherlands as well. It's good to listen to at a party, hope the summer will bring me lots! :D

Bassnectar is good, i went to see them in Chicago last year. It was quite an experience seeing them live.
