nospellcheck does not work? (in General)

sebidach [The Forgehood] March 31 2010 6:02 AM EDT

Noticed yesterday that the nospellcheck tags don't work.

Admindudemus [jabberwocky] March 31 2010 7:22 AM EDT

i do believe they still show the errors, but will let you post regardless of them.

Just tested it again and now it is working? o.O

(And it doesn't show the errors.)

Admindudemus [jabberwocky] March 31 2010 7:39 AM EDT

by that, i mean it still comes up with a list of flagged words that the spellchecker makes, it just allows you to post anyway.

Yes, I understood it that way but when I posted this thread the errors where still shown as flagged words, and now they are not.

Note: if the post has a bunch of visible HTML tags then you probably should have selected "HTML" rather than "Plain Text." If you did select "HTML," tags with invalid attributes or javascript code have been removed.

The spell checker has flagged the following words as mis-spelled:
ユletz
ユcee
ユeif
ユtis
ユwerkz
If the spell checker is mistaken, don't panic -- as long as the fraction of mis-spelled words is less than 0.2, you'll be fine. Hints:
ユEnglish capitalization is important: "Monday" is correct, but "monday" is not.
ユA note about names: CB users are recognized if you uniquely identify them in at least 4 letters. So, 'val' is not recognized as 'Valgasu', but 'valg' is. However, if there is also a user named 'Valgrind', you would have to type more.
ユIf all else fails, use <nospellcheck
tags to 'opt out' part of your post from spellcheck. (Choose HTML mode and simply write <nospellcheck>...my text...</nospellcheck>.)

ユIgnoring this advice and simply padding your post with extra words to get above the 0.2 threshold without an exceptionally good reason will result in a fine.

it still works, you just have to insert your text as html rather than text ;)

I'm not stupid. ;) Still it behaved strange yesterday.
