drops didn't have an actual effect on the game for those who weren't clued in, challenge bonus thing did so kudos to you for thinking up something not ridiculously retarded.

fyi: challenge bonus is the same as it was yesterday. the only thing different is the displayed number... its called a random number generator.

I envy that you can be so ignorant to think that I can be that stupid to not have noticed that by now.

It still has an effect when people start trying to change their fightlist before they notice, hence wasting a handful of BA, maybe not much but those who were clued in previously gain an unfair advantage.

So you think the random number assigned to the CB is harmful, but you have no problem with sending chatmails to new, gullible players that they're receiving items that are then not showing up in their equip page?

It's April Fool's... get over it. They're both harmless.

One results in changing a fightlist and therefore loss of actual rewards, the other loses 2 seconds checking your inventory.
One is an actual material loss, guess which?

And the drops didn't succeed in tricking me (thanks, thread creators), but the challenge bonus had me going for a bit.

I fought 1 battle, stopped and searched forums. It didn't take long to figure out what had happened from there.

I still want my light crossbow...

It was funny, you got an actual rise out of me (yes getting a drop would do that)...

And the CR got me for a second, then I thought this guy has had ~+45% rating for months, now it is -65%... let me do some investigating...

Meh twas funnay to me and I laughed until I cried when I figured it out and even decided to join in the fun a little.

So what you have the same targets for one more day the world comes to an end, not really it is April fools and it is not malicious. Honestly any loss could have happened by way of other fights looking for new targets anyway take it in stride and actually have a laugh.

That is what it was meant for a bit of a laugh so lighten up eh?

While I thought the April Fool's gag was a nice change in the monotony, I could see how it could be detrimental to those moving through the ranks right now. A fake challenge bonus was not necessary, and all it did was confuse me for a few secs. The fake drops were completely harmless though. That was rather amusing

Came up with this idea before, in front of NS and you, so you stole this from me. All praise is now forfeit to yours truly.

my only possible objection to the matter would have been one fairly small (in the scheme of things) issue that I've seen NS complain about some point way back, which would have been all the CM spam knocking out your old messages VERY quickly... But as NS has already previously taken issue with that happening, he had the foresight to not keep the CMs permanently logged in any way, meaning we get to keep our CMs.

All in all, good idea Tal. Nice execution NS. I also got a snicker out of getting a base ES drop mixed in with all the fakes.

the fake CB% threw me off for half a second til i noticed it was 4-1 and my rewards were still around the same as yesterday. The AC thing hurt a bit when i lost a couple opponents and a lil over half a mil score, but when I put my wall set together and noticed I was rockin 740 AC, i knew it was a joke as we all know they would never make AC useful or change the game :P
