This might be the tripod I want to buy. Does it look like a good one? (I own a Canon EOS 400D btw)

thru my almost 10 years of experience as a amateur photographer I have only used a tripod a handful of times. all of my stills have been shot handheld. the only time a tripod is required, for me, is when I am doing a superlong exposure i.e trying to capture lightning or get the cotton candy effect of a waterfall or extreme lowlight photos. To be honest I use a 40 dollar hand me down and you would never tell the difference. haha. But if I was to look for a big upgrade as far as a tripod I would say that one has a bunch of selling points. for me how heavy it is in the bag would be the biggest complaint, or how much space it will take up in the bag. oh well just my thoughts. I am super bored on duty today so sorry if you get nothing out of this haha.

Thanks for your reply Azi. I have now borrowed a tripod from a friend of mine and in 5 weeks time I've been using it a lot.
Mostly because I tend to shoot landscapes and want to try out things like panoramic scenery photography and HDR images, such things require a tripod and I want to have a good one :)

As someone who doesn't use their tripod much I'd have to say weight and portability are important considerations... the *best* tripod is one that you will actually have with you.
Don't know what I'd do if they'd never developed images stabilized lenses!

Image stabilised lenses only bring me so far ;)
