Question on PR (in General)

I recently bought
An Executioner's Sword [82x10] (+1)

To slap on a low MPR character. For some reason, it boosted the PR to 70. When I put it on another low MPR character it did not boost it a bit.

In both cases the max net worth for endurance was not exceeded. The character that did not be bumped up is a 1/1 PR character with one minion.

If interested, look at Clannie and Rent Master. I even bought a second character for Rent Master to see if it would help, but it did not. Unequipping the familiar does not make a difference (well a 2 point one that comes from the familiar - that's all).

Any ideas why?

1 MPR characters never get their PR bumped by equipment for some reason?

Shade: I don't think that's accurate, I started a new character recently to act as a placeholder for items for an upcoming NCB, and I found that while I often didn't get close to ENC (100k, while falling somewhere around 20-30k per minion) my PR rose to around 20 :S

weapon + counts towards PR. x does not.

He's putting the same weapon on though NS, they have the same +, should see similar PR increase.

I think it has to do with having 2 weapons. What are the stats on the halberd?

Reducing the + to 0 took care of the problem, but it does not explain why 50 PR was added for that one +, or why it did not add anything for another even smaller character.

The halberd has at least 1 pth on it as well right?

A Morgul-Hammer [84x7] (+9)
equipped on a minion in my character Clannie with no PR affect.
