Daily Wacky Times (in General)

I'm not sure which way I prefer yet, but I want to toss the idea out to discuss it.

Instead of 6 hour wacky times twice a week, do 1 hour wacky times twice a day.

Pros: You get people playing at the same time more often. The calculation for how much BA to be spent during wacky times and therefore judge player growth would be alot easier. You can add stuff to the game that assumes players will be online together, because they will be.

Cons: People will buy BA everyday for the exp or the money times, whatever the case may be, if you call that a con. People with schedules that aren't good for those wacky times will be hindered by the schedule (perhaps a different time each day of the week to be fair).

What do you guys think, pros/cons, ideas?

I was just thinking part of the problem with CB is that there is not alot of player interaction, if we gave incentive for people to at least be playing at the same time, we may be able to work in changes to gameplay that would matter if you're online for defensive reasons.

Ok. I don't like this idea and here is why.

If I was making a NCB char or just starting out as a NUB I would time ba every day to use during the xp time. With the slower ba rates you could use a very small amount during what would be the normal part of the day and use almost all your ba and all bought ba every day during the xp time. This to me would be a bad thing. I don't see how it would bring anything to the game at all. Also if I was a NUB multi I would save almost all my ba during money time and make as much cb as possible just to sell later. If I was doing a money making NCB char to get ready for my true attempt NCB char I would also just use all ba during money times every day and very little during normal time. This just doesn't seem like something that adds to game play at all. Thanks for the suggestion, and hopefully I have discussed enough, probably too much though. lol

I think the logic behind the 6 hour times was that there are people from all around the world, so if you choose an optimal time for someone in the United States then it's not really optimal elsewhere.

With them twice a week, you could have them offset so everywhere it's semioptimal once a week at least. The six hour window also helps it be more flexible.

If you have a 1 hr window, you'll have people rushing to cram their BA in that window, which can create a lot of stress. I know I would never bother doing this, but some people are really focused on maximizing everything, I'd hate to set everyone else behind.

As a counter argument, I miss out on one or both of the 6 hour blocks some weeks due to my job.

If it were a 1 hour block everyday, I personally would actually get more wacky time BA spent with less stress.

I'm not sure how many other people fall into the same category as me though.

Been a Time or Two that I have Suggested a Random Wacky Time for 1 Hour every day or Every other Day to make things Interesting.......

What time do you place the hour wacky times? Or do you move them around so that everyone gets a fair whack?

In which case you might as well keep them as they are.

The con/pro to being able to buy BA and spend It on your choice of wacky time everyday is equal to everyone who spends it. However That leaves 5 more Buy more BA available a week being spent with increased bonus's which would change the growth rate of MPR/money for every character dramaticaly, which could be a pro/con that also debatable. I am however against it if it changes it too much and allows N*B's to catch up too easily. (has to be some sort of challenge)

I don't think the 6 hour blocks need to be changed per se however it would be great to be able to choose when I could take advantage of those 6 hour blocks.
This is amplified when running a NCB as these times become very important.

Let's put it this way...
X = your BA regeneration rate (from 6 to 10)
You can time it so you have 160 stored up when the bonus time starts, you get all the BA you can accrue during the bonus time, and you can buy all your daily BA during that time.

Now, you can spend at most 2*(160+X*3*6+X*24)=320+X*42 BA during some XP or cash time.
With the "1 hour each day" you can spend at most 6*(160+X*3+X*24)=960+X*27 BA during XP or cash time.

So, for X=6(/20) you get 572 now vs 1122 in your proposed system.
With X=10(/20) you get 740 now vs 1230 in your proposed system.
