Tournament 57: Gotta catch 'em all!

Tournament 55 will start on August 28th at noon and will be a kind of Pokemon style tournament. Turns out it's going to be Tournament 57.

• There will be 3 rounds, similar to Pokemon battles.
• There will be a maximum of 1500 BA to be used in each round.
• I will provide with 500 initial BA and 500 experience to start with.
• Each round you will start a new character and buy your Familiar from the Tournament Armor Store.
• You cannot choose the same familiar more than 1 time, doing this will have you disqualified.
• The winner based on the tatoo level of the 3 characters you played with:
• #1: A Halidon Familiar lvl 3,165,680 57,410,777
• #2: A Tattoo of Endurance lvl 1,062,345 19,273,117
• #3: A Halidon Familiar lvl 482,828 8,765,318
• The tournament will run for 2 weeks, giving plenty of time even for non hardcore playing players.
• Decay, Dispel Magic and Ablative Shield are not allowed, using them will have you disqualified.
• I have disabled some of the items from stores as well.
• Once you buy your Familiar, you're not allowed to buy a second one for profit purposes. Doing so will have you disqualified.

Your Familiar will represent the Pokemon:

Fire Familiar

Ice Familiar

Electric Familiar

Steel Familiar

Halidon Familiar

Jigorokano Familiar

Oh and yes, you will have to have your character retired in order to make a new one. Either you could retire it yourself or have me or another admin do this. If you ask an admin though, please be patient, you have plenty of time :)

Wait so do you switch your familiar each battle?
Or do you spend 500 ba with one equipped then make a new minion with another familiar equipped?
Will the familiars be provided?
This will be my first tournament so I want to make sure I get all the information.

You will fight 1500 BA with 1 familiar, start a new character and pick a different familiar. After fighting 1500 BA, you make yet another new one and fight 1500 again.

i.e. 3 characters for the tournament, each with their own familiar. These familiars will be normal familiars and will be able to be purchased from the store.

You will at least get an entry prize if you name your character like a pokemon and if you use the right character image for that pokemon :)

Will your minion be the trainer and the familiar the pokemon? Does your minion get to train any DD spells or equip weapons or is all the fighting strictly up to the familiar?

Your minion(s) will be the trainer indeed and the Familiar the 'Pokemon'. However, you will be limited with some spells.

Decay is not allowed, neither is Dispel Magic or Ablative Shield.

I choose Shade as the name of my Rival!

I've allowed a wide variety of items, both weapons and armor but I've left a few ones out ^_^

Additionally, anyone who fights all their battles with over 75% win rate for each character will win 100k in cash.

Shade you should have everyone post their familiar's stats before retiring.

I could have people do that, but that wouldn't be reliable enough...

Yes you are, I have made no limitations to the amount of minions :)

I've added one specific rule which involves a possible loophole making profit from the cheap price of the tattoos.

ive quit the tourny as ive just realised how it will be won and i cant believe i was that dumb to not realise all you have to do is farm one player active player to win which sort of makes it pointless imo

nope i quit because it was sucked being single farmed and i realised if your prepared to farm one player continously now you would prob do it for the rest of the tourny to making the rest of the tourny a forgone conclusion as no one else was doing it.

Update:
Some players have asked to make up my mind on how the winner is declared.
I will still determine the winner based on the level of the Familiar.

Please make sure to post the level of your tattoo before you retire your character for your next round, afterwards I have no means of checking it's level. If you don't post, the level will be 20.

I approve of this decision, it makes the tournament far more interesting!

Huh I get confused and my 1's look like 7's and I always seem to add a 0 at the end of my pasted/copied numbers. So we are posting our tattoo levels on the honor system them?

Yeah, I hope that's not how we're doing it, I don't know if my lvl 1.5M Jig will grow much bigger before tourney's end =\

I'm still getting the error.

So I had my 2nd character deleted and it was doing well and I have over 500 fights fought with him.

I am very seriously considering not finishing this tourney.

So is the error being worked on? And what is the current plan?

I think the game is trying to make tournament 56 working while it does not exist.
I definitely need NS to fix this and will most likely just restart the entire tournament when it's fixed to give everyone a fair chance again

If you're able to create a character, by all means :)

Are you going to extend it at all for the days lost shade? It cuts really hard on those who were just going to finish up or were in the middle of their first round and lost an additional day to the error.

If I'm restarting, I'll make sure to make it last the full 2 weeks. And if everyone seems to be able to make their character now, I'll just extend it enough so everyone can get their 3 rounds in :)

Bump, the tournament is back on track people!

I can't retire my character for round 1...when I click retire the screen just reloads and nothing happens. Which means I can't start a character for round 2. Is it a problem on my end? I couldn't do it at work or at home.

Don't think anyone can gain on the current top 3 so I might as well continue with the prizes.

Since there were only 3 players really active when the Tournament finally worked as it should (sorry about that :$) it will be fairly simple:

#1 is Natasha with a total Pokemon level of 41,647
#2 is horseguy001 with a total Pokemon level of 35,139
#3 is Meteor Phoenix with a total Pokemon level of 28,963

Prizes have been sent to the character with the highest score.
