Computer problem! (in Off-topic)

So the other day my trusty acer mini was attacked by some computer spy ware. Long story short the spy ware corrupted something important and now window's xp will not start up.

I guess now my next options is only to reinstall windows. Also I see this as an opportunity to upgrade to windows 7 if that's at all possible. So I need step by step instruction on how to go about this as I have never attempted this before.

(also keep in mind acer mini's have no cd rom drive, and I will need to boot from a USB).

Any help would be awesome!
