That is awesome! It is also an Idea I have had for a while for my wife. I've been trying to find a way to crunch the Sorenson Video Phone tech into a mobile format using 6th Sense Technology as a basis. IE Turning Sign to text/voice and back. I would be highly interested to see what they came up with in particular!
they really just had to pitch a concept. they wanted the teams to stay away from qwerty and touch keypads as much as possible.
their concept was just what you described, using sign language and the camera on the cell phone which would translate the sign to text.
they won some technology items for their school and each one of the girls got a $100 best buy gift card.
i knew ob would be a problem, i have a shotgun though and a few chain saws! not that i would cut him up or anything, but i would put his butt to work clearing trees! ; )
I'd rather trust OB with my daughter than a chainsaw.... there's little chance of him figuring out women, but chainsaws and rednecks go together like grits and corn.
