BA dump (in General)

Shadow Ruler October 19 2010 11:41 AM EDT

There should be a BA dump button that allows you to burn all your current BA for a % off of what you would originally get. Or for a fee. Anyone else feel the same?

PoisoN October 19 2010 12:06 PM EDT

Since the second week I play this game and the predecessor. Won't change.

QBBast [Hidden Agenda] October 19 2010 12:23 PM EDT

Seriously? "I can't be bothered to play the game!" when the game mostly involves 3 minutes of pressing [Enter]?

Shadow Ruler October 19 2010 1:15 PM EDT

There is a downtime, with a * over their names..

AdminLamuness October 19 2010 1:47 PM EDT

If I'm understanding correctly, you're asking for one of two things:
  1. Auto-fight your list until your BA is used up.
  2. Fight all opponents in your list that are available.

1. I'm quite sure there are past / present / future reasons as to why this will not happen. Also, Bast already summed it up nicely.

2. If I were to implement that, then you would still have the same problem as you are having now. You would still have a downtime waiting for opponents that have an asterisk besides their name. The only thing changed here is, instead of pressing Enter for each opponent, it has been reduced to a single click. Again, I'll refer back to Bast's post.

QBBast [Hidden Agenda] October 19 2010 2:22 PM EDT

Play with a bigger fightlist, no *-based downtime.

NooneKnows October 19 2010 2:23 PM EDT

...try forging?

QBOddBird October 19 2010 4:11 PM EDT

^

forging is for you, there's no downtime, all you have to do is memorize a pattern and voila! money.

Fishead October 19 2010 4:40 PM EDT

Think of all the wear and tear you will save on your enter button.

Lord Bob October 19 2010 6:37 PM EDT

I vote no for the reasons already pointed out.

Zenai [Cult of the Valaraukar] October 19 2010 6:55 PM EDT

This is only something I would support on a Temporary Basis. Something like a Vacation Mode that can only be earned through game play accrual and used once a year for 7 Days.

If X Player accrued 358 Days then they would get the 7 Day Vacation BA Dump. Just my opinion on it though.

Lord Bob October 19 2010 7:08 PM EDT

I still wouldn't support it. People on vacation who aren't logging in and burning BA should lose ground against those who are playing.

Zippy October 19 2010 7:16 PM EDT

Only should implement this if you have to answer 160 bot checks immediately afterwards in 2 mins.

Unappreciated Misnomer October 19 2010 7:33 PM EDT

I cant support this, I find the fact that carnageblender should contain as much content as possible for one account. this is where i would promote my idea for some old school changes like revert back to 300BA cap and regen every 10minutes. long ago :)

Sickone October 19 2010 7:36 PM EDT

[sarcasm]
I have this other great idea : why not just have the BA burn itself on the first 6-10 people in your fav list as soon as the BA is accrued ?
This way, you won't even have to log in at all several times a day, only every few days to train, select a new fav list, and go on your merry way !

Well I was working off of this:

Use the Fee or a % less on the MPR Gain if you wish I wouldn't be against it. Honestly everyone should get some kind of a break without getting screwed in the process ya know? Log in Once a Day Burn all of your BA for that Day in one shot, you get to do this 6 more times(in a row) after you accrued 358(or 365 if you want) Days of Game Play. I honestly do not see why that would be such a horrible thing, they would still log in daily just not have to be on several times throughout the day.

The only thing I would see as a problem is players attempting to save it for a few years and do it all in one pop for a month or something. In this case I would make it to where once you get your target days netted then you have a grace period of when you must start or lose said days. On a side note I would also make it to where it cannot be done on a NCB. Just my humble opinion.

ScrObot October 19 2010 8:08 PM EDT

It seems to me that this is trying to address one of CB's biggest fundamental problems (in my opinion), and that's the fact that you HAVE to log in and play at least 3 times a day (4 for newer characters), every single day, or you can't be competitive.

The 160 BA cap with the current regen rates make this game seem like a chore or homework at times. I'm sure a sizable population have altered their sleep schedules at some point because of this.

I too have become jaded on the prospect of any core changes happening to this game, but a system where there was a higher BA cap, perhaps with a slower regen rate after 160, would go a long way.

*shrug*

For the record, I'd be against any system of "automatically" playing or burning your BA, regardless of the lowered rewards or anything. How is that any different than botting?

I can't think of any game this lenient, much less moreso.

Demigod October 19 2010 11:05 PM EDT

Less than "any"?

AdminTitan [The Sky Forge] October 19 2010 11:06 PM EDT

I think he meant other games are less lenient.

Well for what I was proposing you would still have to log on and do all of the BA Burning yourself. You would just have the option to burn all BA from 4am Cache Flush to 4am Cache Flush (or for those who prefer 12am to 12am) at any given point in the day. Once done it is done and no need to log in for the rest of the day ie a Vacation mode for 7 Days out of the year.

QBBast [Hidden Agenda] October 20 2010 1:10 AM EDT

This is like saying you want to address the fundamental problem of football which, as you see it, is the necessity of a team. If you think this is the fundamental problem, you need a different sport. Like golf. Or tennis. Singles ping-pong?

Yep! this is exactly what i mean. its why i no longer play competitively

AdminNemesia [Demonic Serenity] October 20 2010 2:17 AM EDT

I think my suggestion was one that most could live with. A difficulty level that you chose your BA regen rate and BA cap. Depending on how low you set it determines the amount of bonus you get. Or to make sure it remains balanced properly you just set the difficulty bonus yourself and that determines your BA regen rate and cap. It would likely be a number between 1 and 20 or so.

AdminQBGentlemanLoser [{END}] October 20 2010 4:10 AM EDT

I still think that's a nice idea, but how would you balance CP generation and the drop system?

(Actually, I'm a little fuzy on whether the drop system scaled drop changes to BA regen already. It *should* - otherwise you could stay at 10/20 to farm drops - which means this isn't an issue!)

QBOddBird October 20 2010 8:29 AM EDT

GL - CPs could be increased, and then scaled with regen rates.

Every fight earns you 20 CPs, 40 if they're in a clan, 60 if they're in a bonus giving clan (or however it works now, but multiplied by 10.)

Then if you have an easy regen rate, which regenerates slower, your fights are worth a larger amount of CPs. If you have a difficult regen rate, regenerating faster, your fights are worth a smaller amount of CPs each.

That's just to keep it even - if it was felt that difficult gameplay should not just give better rewards, but more CPs as well, then it could be adjusted.
