Admin: Change Request for a Feature. (in General)

Zenai [Cult of the Valaraukar] November 27 2010 1:33 AM EST

Ok this is because i have had to do this a few times and i have to say it is EXTREMELY irritating. Having to C & P everything then having to type down the NW and adding it to the list. Honestly cannot there be a better was to do this? I'm quite sure that everyone that sells items would love whoever codes this feature.

Idea: A way to Show, Copy and List all information necessary efficiently into the FS/WTB Forums without going to uber lengths the do so.

Do I know the best way to do so ...no but i am definitely sure that the way we have it right now is not it.

Lord Bob November 27 2010 1:39 AM EST

Seconded.

AdminTal Destra November 27 2010 1:45 AM EST

i believe verifex is already working on a fix for this

AdminNightStrike November 27 2010 10:28 AM EST

Wouldn't that encourage FS/WTB over auctions? I want to do the opposite...

AdminQBnovice [Cult of the Valaraukar] November 27 2010 10:30 AM EST

auctions still need the max time set to infinite

QBOddBird November 27 2010 10:34 AM EST

NS: Auctions are not useful when trading for anything other than CBD.

AdminNightStrike November 27 2010 10:45 AM EST

I get that.. but there's no reason you can't sell for CBD, then sell the CBD via FS/WTB.

As for indefinite auctions... how would we charge that? Right now, it's priced as a percentage per day.

Admindudemus [jabberwocky] November 27 2010 10:59 AM EST

percentage based on final sales amount?

AdminQBnovice [Cult of the Valaraukar] November 27 2010 11:07 AM EST

That much CB may simply not exist, without FS/WTB you'd be forcing folks to DE.

AdminQBnovice [Cult of the Valaraukar] November 27 2010 11:08 AM EST

Hell percentage on the NW of the item... make it easier to sell base stuff.

AdminNightStrike November 27 2010 11:42 AM EST

What if auctions were free to list, but then the fee was based on the final sell price, expanding on dude's suggestion? That might be something we could try out for a bit.

AdminNightStrike November 27 2010 11:42 AM EST

(ie, no sale, no cost)

Eliteofdelete [Battle Royale] November 27 2010 11:44 AM EST

I think that would make them a lot more useful...its annoying paying a few thousand only to have your item not sell.

AdminQBnovice [Cult of the Valaraukar] November 27 2010 11:54 AM EST

I really think we should just be charged the xfer fee same as if we sent it. charge the xfer + the same 2k we get charged in FS/WTB

Eliteofdelete [Battle Royale] November 27 2010 11:59 AM EST

But then why not just use FS/WTB. If I have to pay 2k per item and go through all the trouble of sticking up each individual item; I might as well just create one post and stick my 15-20 items into it and only pay 2k every time a bump that. If you want people to use actions more you need to make it have more incentive.

AdminNemesia [Demonic Serenity] November 27 2010 12:03 PM EST

Switching it to make the payment upon sale will help out auctions a ton. It will get used a lot more because you have the ability to have an automated sale when you want.

AdminQBnovice [Cult of the Valaraukar] November 27 2010 12:04 PM EST

that would be huge

Admindudemus [jabberwocky] November 27 2010 12:04 PM EST

isn't transfer fee based on nw? final sell price would scale with the economy more so that when prices go down the commission would as well whereas the transfer based fee wouldn't?

Zenai [Cult of the Valaraukar] November 27 2010 12:12 PM EST

NS no offense but that doesn't help much if you have 50 or 60 Items to sell spread out over several different chars. Helping Auctions yeah I get it ok but seriously that doesn't do squat for what players who are sellers really need.

Do you really want Auctions to be completely flooded...well of that I am sure is the aim but you would want to do it in a positive way no? Aside from this Chars are locked from retirement, in the case of major sellers that like to play tournies that is a no go. Add in the fact that some just wouldn't sell at all because the fee is prohibitive to profit.

Kill FS/WTB(For everything you could even do CBD through it)
Kill the Auction Fee(or reduce it by 20% to match the reduction in Rewards)
Kill Item Restrictions(on at least on char or make an Item Vault)

After this then I'd say yay go Auctions until then could we just get what I listed in the original post please?

Admindudemus [jabberwocky] November 27 2010 12:35 PM EST

sure it would, if it were simplified to be based on final sell price then you could have a page showing all of your items with radial buttons and you could select all you want to auction and then say "list selected indefinitely".

since there are no other parameters, bulk sales would work great!

Admindudemus [jabberwocky] November 27 2010 12:38 PM EST

you would need some fields for min bid and buy now but that could be done in a multi listing table fairly easily. radial button to the left of the item and then once selected two fields for min and bin show up to the left. list selected indefinitely, one week, or two weeks could be buttons along the bottom.

AdminNightStrike November 27 2010 12:47 PM EST

Everyone understands that it's cheaper to sell via auctions in the current form than via FS/WTB, right? The cost of doing a direct transfer is far more than the cost via auctions.

Catdog November 27 2010 12:52 PM EST

Bad NS Bad. Auctions the blacksmith and things like it are the direct opposite of what you need in this game. you need more player involvement not a set it and forget it mentality and thats what auctions bring about. in fact I have a list of things I've been prepping that i think can get this game where you want it that I'll be posting soon i really hope you think about them.

AdminNemesia [Demonic Serenity] November 27 2010 1:01 PM EST

Auctions is cheaper for small items, but for larger ones it is more expensive most of the time.

Admindudemus [jabberwocky] November 27 2010 1:19 PM EST

based on a single listing or multiple ones?

Zenai [Cult of the Valaraukar] November 27 2010 2:45 PM EST

Splitting hairs here folks.

Right now the way things are is quite simple. For the "Set it and Forget it" for single, or only a few items Auctions are great.

For Multiple Items FS/WTB is the best route. Unfortunately it sucks to do so at present as listing multiple items is a complete hassle.

So setting things to where it can be done Hassle free for either FS/WTB via C & P or Auctions via Mass UI Checklist(with a Vault Char or something of the like?/Setting Items to Account rather than Char?) would be a prime way to set this issue right.

/A bit of a Rant

Just my take on this....too many are to tiptoeing around the issue presented as per usual for whatever reason just get to the point and get it taken care of for crying out loud....geeze.
