But anyway to save your picture from the flash thing you have to press print screen on your keyboard and paste it into ms paint (or similar application) and crop it. Then upload the image to the hobowiki and embed it on your page

Just updated my wiki page with my char, pretty nice little character maker there.

to help with forum cleanliness and to head off any complaints i am asking that all of the d&d posts be made in one thread. once that thread auto-closes, another can be created.

with that in mind i am moving this thread to off-topic and giving it a more fitting name for what will likely be the first of many threads. let me know if someone has a better thread title and i will see what i can do. thanks for your compliance! ; )

OK, so on days like today, if Mumble doesn't work then we cannot do a session. I cannot multi-task and type fast enough to respond to everyone in a 12 man party, much less if we're splitting up into side-quests and such (which I'm not trying to discourage, it is just too difficult to play management with it all with text.)

Makes sense, things would've worked out much nicer if we had mumble working like our first session. So whats the deal with this session, are we kind of just messing around and not really going anywhere with it?

perhaps skype in case mumble doesn't work again?

I really like the idea mentioned today of someone assisting me with the group, particularly with combat. It would work out very nicely. Post here if you are interested in helping me out with that, including anyone who isn't currently involved with the D&D campaign who might want to come in and help. :]

The biggest group I've ever been in was 8 people, so I wouldn't know about more, but I think it should work.

To be fair OB, part of the idea of me not going into the combat was so i could help if needed.

Im a paladin. I stayed up there, asked some questions about the rat problem, then had a look at the local sewer system.

I would be glad to help, just need a little help tp figure out what I am doing. If you like I would be glad to help after all My character is so simple to run. I have lots of spare time during sessions to help. Especially if it enables us to accomplish more.

Mumble appeared to be working when I just tried it now without doing anything special. Are you sure it wasn't working?

That's an understatement. Our speech sounded like weird horrible techno-music.

Verifex, everyone's speech was horribly choppy. I turned my quality all the way to the lowest settings in order to be understood, and eventually just dropped Mumble altogether anyway. I'm not sure what was up, but it was definitely not working well last night.

It turns out that skype has a 25 person maximum if people wanna try that.
Btw: It turns out that instead of PTT, you can just set a hot key to mute/unmute your mic.

Skype is fine for large groups.

Skype does seem like it would be the very best option for us.

I am guessing that my roommates must have been streaming some show or something.

fridays now have a 50% success rate. Is there any other day we can do this, because at this rate it will take months upon months to finish this campaign. Not complaining per say, just trying to amend the situation.

Hey OB. I was not trying to come off rude earlier. I was just trying to let you know there are 10+ people you are making sad when you miss. I know RL is a priority but if there was a better time for you that works weekly most of us I am sure would be glad to accommodate. Even making alternate arrangements maybe with someone else who can DM for a day in your place.

If that session I was there for partially was any indication, you're a pretty good DM OB, so people just want more! :)

I personally don't really have a problem with it, I know RL stuff comes first. Today is just one of those days where I didn't sleep and I'm exhausted, that's pretty much the reason why I wanna know if its happening or not. If we're still on then I'll soldier through it, if not then I'm going to be sleeping like a baby quicker then you can say "nap time"

For those who missed it, here's the recap:

Mumble worked; the players cheered. We picked up with the group in the rat-infested basement and broke a larger hole where the vermin where coming in. We entered the tunnel to find a magical rat-god-thing that quickly spawned a seemingly endless number of rats via mitosis. Despite quickly and easily slaying the main rat, the magical mitosis continued. However, it produced dead rats showing the same wounds as the primary one. The character who received the magical ring from a prior quest managed to properly dispose of the mess, ending the problem once and for all. Happy with the victory, we headed to the market and shops to pick up items and equipments.

However, the DM had other plans and spent the next thirty minutes screaming on the phone, leaving the players to misbehave. Nat learned something about helicopters while Xeno got in touch with his inner hippy.

Upon the DM's return, string was purchased for a bow, Nayab and I commissioned shields, and other people may or may not have done other things.

Thus ends my half-assed recap.
