Gurren Lagann was my first thought as well, Sickone.

Never played Spiral Knights. How would you describe it? Not sure if I care for overly-cartoony style of the picture on the link of Pits.

Seems to be pretty much a dungeon crawler with a crafting system. its not bad, good for a free game.
