Goodbye Verizon -- Anyone use Optimus V? (in Off-topic)

Now that my phone died, I have a reason to ditch Verizon after a decade with them. I figure I'll test out the Virgin Mobile's cheap rates to see how they fare:

The phone offerings are limited, so the LG Optimus V (Android 2.2) will be the winner. But I'm curious as to how it handles CB and the CB guild at Shakes & Fidget.

If anyone has one or used one, please let me know what you think -- especially in regards to the two sites I mentioned.

the browser in 2.2 is wonderful for CB... but pure touchscreens are meh

I'm not a fan of texting, so I can do without a full keyboard. But I burnt through two LG ENV Touch phones in two years with the touch sensors failing both times, so hopefully this has a better build quality.

This will be my first Android phone, so it looks like I also get to learn about rooting. I assume most everyone in CB-land rooted theirs.

i have not. someone said, unsure if it is true, that you couldn't watch netflix on a rooted phone and that is something i do often.

The only thing I heard about that was that the Netflix app would only work on approved phone models, but that you could tinker around to bypass the problem.

oh, and my wife has the lg optimus s and she loves it. i can't say much about it as we have only had it a couple of weeks but the battery life is great compared to two other androids in our house.

I'm more used to Optimus P

S&F didn't work great until the most recent Flash patch (it loaded but the buttons rarely worked).

Now it's great (though strangely, the "Tavern" button never works first--I have to hit "mail" and then hit "tavern")

Aaaaaaaand fail. It doesn't have Flash. Is that a way to add Flash to a rooted phone, or am I stuck until the Triumph comes to Virgin later this summer?

you cannot dl the flash app!

I don't have the phone yet, but despite mixed reports online, I think I'm boned when it comes to S&F on this phone.
