Question about SoD splash damage. (in General)

I was under the assumption that the SoD splash damage is not physical damage. But rather magical damage that can be mitigated by the RBF.

If that is correct, they who does the SoC store up splash damage and return it when I get hit with a MoD? I thought the SoC only stored up physical damage or the direct only hit from the SoD.

I think its physical damage that can specially be reduced by RoBF. I think it probably gets reduced by all AC and not by MgS but I don't think anyone has tested it.

i think its plain physical damage 8D

Thanks.

I was confused since the RBF lowers its damage.

It's physical damage, possibly flame. It's a sling with explosive shot remember...

makes since that the RoBF reduces the physical damage since as johnnywas pointed out it is a type of fire damage

I know that. I thought that the splash damage was just that-splash, fire, flame. Like the spread damage from FB, just focused more so there is no damage to your own minions.

I guess it is different flame/fire than fireball, which is a magically conjured flame, I guess. Which can explain why both the SoC and RBF help vs it. It is physical fire, not magical fire.
