What part of an essay is the prosthesis? (in Off-topic)

I mean, I know what the thesis is, but my academic experiences are too far adrift in my memory for me to recall this one...

Anyone?

Thanks NS...

You've taken me from "Loch is such an idiot" territory and plunked me down in "Loch is such an idiot, AND he is too lazy to used google" territory.
Can't I make one little idiotic post without being made to look like an idiot? Is that too much to ask?

Bah!

ps. you made me learn something new too.... is there no limit to your cruel ways?

Hmm well I was only going to say something about asking your proctologist because, deep down, in the end, he just might have some important words for you ese.

Seems stupid now.

Isn't prosthesis a part that you attach to a word that is a bit hard to pronounce? I am not really sure with this but I think that has got to be the definition I recall it for.

It is more evident on dialogues of plays and acts written a long time ago, most probably including Shakespeare and a few other of his blokes.
