Want to help me make CB better? (in General)

Ok, good presumably you do, so I need to have you do something. You're going to find out the timing for the fightfeed/BA regen thing for your connection, to do this, you need to have the Chrome browser.

Then load the CB homepage. And click this in chrome:



Now, you should have this bar at the bottom of your page, click the "Network" tab and it should look like this:



Now, the tricky part, you want to look at the new elements that appear, it should be "sidebar-heartbeat.tcl" loading. Look at the "Time / Latency" column, and tell me what the average time is listed there on this thread. That will help me a lot. Thanks :)

mine bounces from 45ms to 6 seconds, most around 50ms

52ms for me

80 for me

Latency time are stable.

running numbers from about 80-105,,,have a couple that are high ...172 i6t does not seem to dip below 75

When you look at the latency time spend some ba to be sure that the systemes does have a update to send.

Sending : 0-1 ms
Waiting : 170-340 ms
Receiving : 1 ms

P.S. Where are the servers physically located ?
Don't you need a ping to at least one of the big routers/servers at the same ISP where the CB server is at ?
You know, to differentiate between actual travel time TO the area immediate to the server and the actual server delay ?

85ms is about the average for me

Since I live on the other side of the world where we have little better than 2 cans and a piece of string, my times stink. Low to mid 400ms but peaked at 540ms over the 10 20 seconds I watched.

You can also do the same test with Firefox using Tools->Web Console.

I assume this is connected to the Fight Feed. Can that be an option under settings to disable that?

my average sidebar heartbeat = 150-160, though there are peeks where i hit 300.
this is to check the time it takes to get the information from CB to me and back right?

The average is around 75ms for me when I'm idle and just watching it with the occasional spike up around 170ms.
