bloodmoon thread (in Off-topic)
anyone think we should try fighting again right now, to see if it is still broken and maybe move us back up toward the top a bit?
for anyone else interested in trying the game out, we do have two free slots, you have to play a hunter though.
canis lupus is ranked 3rd, it will cost 39k gold to attack them and we should win.
that is two votes out of two voting, that is a majority, right?
Well.. I might finally get to attack for once ;)

Hey just created a hunter looks interesting the game
Anyone wan add me my name is DrkZeraga
If anyone new doesn't care about whether they start their own character or not. I'm open to giving my character away to someone who plans to be active since I'm likely a week or two away from not being active. Lvl 63, top 40 in honor.
battle up, please prep.
we also have one slot free if anyone else wanted to try the game, you will need to play a hunter to join our guild there since guilds are race based.

lol dudemus, killing most of them without your weapon equipped
i missed it, i had taken it off to see if i could drop in ranks and to see if someone else could fight...i guess that didn't work out so well?
No you pretty much still wrecked the whole team but the 2nd to last guy. For some reason the second to last person is always a higher level and you didn't nuke him with your WP shot so he ended up killing you. Its all good, I came in afterwards with the mop up.
October 22 2011 8:17 AM EDT
hey just started...any room left in guild?
October 22 2011 8:30 AM EDT
lol just realized you might want my name on there
October 22 2011 8:32 AM EDT
wow i am tired--just realized this is the thread for bloodmoon & i was talking about S&F
gotta get some sleep
np waldo, i am not sure if we have room in s&f guild but will let demi know. if not i am sure he can put you on a wait list!
I still have a top ~40 character in bloodmoon I'm willing to give up. I'm doing my best to maintain right now but eventually I won't have the time. Someone take it so it doesn't go to waste!
i think i finally understand why we lose so much power, and thus our ranking, when we are defeated in the guild battles.
the system here takes ten percent of your inf and an equal amount in power. since our inf has been growing so well, it means that ten percent of that is usually more power than we have and thus we jump down to zero or darn near it when defeated.
as per request, we are fighting dracorum and the fight has been initiated. please prep all!
November 1 2011 8:14 PM EDT
maybe we'll all get to fight :D
a few more got to fight, not many still though. we are ranked 3rd for factions now though! ; )
as has happened before, once we got up close to the top one of them takes us out of the picture!
some seem to think we need to adjust our donations policy. i do think that some need to donate more but many of us are donating very generously.
if we do update the formula, i want it to be very simple. i want a ten year old to be able to understand it as i think some of them are playing these games.
i would also want people to think about trying to make it fun to donate rather than upping our rule. what are our other options? in s&f we would have donation days or weekends where everything went to the guild. the downside here is that we have no guild mail to advertise these events and not everyone checks guild chat it seems.
November 2 2011 11:00 AM EDT
I can always run another donation contest with a CBD prize :)
November 2 2011 11:03 AM EDT
That said, 1000/level is a very lax policy given the dramatic increase in income as you level and the exponential increase in cost for bonus upgrades. I do agree that that needs revision.
November 2 2011 11:06 AM EDT
put like, everyday 250xlevel, at level 50 you should donate 12.5K a day. that aint much...
quyen, how do you verify that people are following that?
the criteria, as i see them for a new formula, would be simple enough to explain in one sentence and understand. it also needs to be able to be verified fairly simply by using the total gold donated per person.
what about level*level*100?
at level 5=2,500
at my level, 71, it would be 504,000. i am almost twice that without affecting my character too adversely i feel so i don't think it would be too restrictive of an amount.
November 2 2011 11:27 AM EDT
I think that's a very reasonable formula.
My initial change before Titan suggested a different formula was simply this (although I wrote it slightly differently the first time):
Donation Formula: Lvl * (X)
(Level < 50) X = 1000; (Level > 50) X = 2000; (Level > 100) X = 4000
Basically every 50 levels the X doubles, a few people had mailed me in-game and said this was still too lenient in their opinion. I had originally thought about every 20-40 levels but I didn't know if it would have been too harsh or not.
Basically every 50 levels the X doubles
My formula made it so the X doubled every 20 levels, we could go with somewhere in the middle.
Dude I like the formula you just posted, I think that will end up working rather well in the long run, and its something that we can easily tweak as time goes on.
i really would rather have one formula that applies the same to everyone as it would make it much easier for the donations officer to check and see who is in line and who is not. yes, we will be appointing a new donations officer as part of this change as well. i hope one of the existing officers will take it over but if not we can bring someone else in.
i really would rather have one formula
That's why I made the weird floored division formula :) Although, the problem with that is, a good amount of people don't know what floored division is.
I think Dude's suggestion is easy enough to understand, I have currently posted it on the Guild wall. If anyone would like to tweak it feel free to.
now, do we have any volunteers for the donations officer? ; )
What exactly would their duties entail?
watch everyone's donation level and shoot them a message asking them to bring it in line with the formula. a weekly check should be sufficient i would think except for maybe new players.
i think it would be smart to ensure that any new player understands the formula as well. other than that, just letting me know if someone isn't even trying so that we can replace them or replacing them if we have someone on the waiting list.
Just keeping track of donations via a google doc I would assume.
I'd volunteer, but I'm burnt out enough running full adrenaline every day + S&F + CB
I'll do it, once a week, every Sunday. Insanely hectic these past couple weeks, so I've been missing some updates on the level page. But, things should slow down around 11/11 (perfect timing I know, Skyrim !).
November 2 2011 12:28 PM EDT
it's no problem, I don't think anyone expects the level page to be updated daily
I got it today anyways :)
you could set up a column with that formula in it to figure out the current amount everyone needs. we might just have to insert columns for the data and change the cell reference in the formula each update.
November 3 2011 7:12 AM EDT
I dont mind doing it
November 3 2011 11:28 AM EDT
This is much easier if you people don't keep changing the donation level :-P
Ah well, any chance we can switch to a 9-9-9 plan?
thanks freed, you and titan can either take turns or split the duties. just be diplomatic about letting people know they are behind and giving them a chance to catch up.

If people miss payments, I'm going to go all sorts of Heisenberg on them.

Hey just wondering what is the use of donating bloodstone or influence to the guild?
I know influence is used in upgrading the guild but so far we have more than enough compared to the gold cost for upgrading so i was wondering what is the point of having so much influence lol
Also bloodstone is like not used at all haha
in the forums we only have the upgrade costs, from the german server, listed up to level 52. we have to assume that it goes to at least 100 and that at some point it will cost bs's since that is exactly the way it worked in s&f.
with inf, it is a gamble. it kind of hurts us to have high inf due to the way clan wars are at the moment. it is also limited as to how much you can donate in any given day. the question is, what does it really hurt to have it high in case we do need a large amount quickly?
November 4 2011 10:34 AM EDT
So bloodstone are used in upgrade...while influence does nothing? o.O
that isn't what i said at all.
inf is already used as part of the upgrade cost.
bs's will likely come into play later, wait to donate until we know that though.
November 4 2011 10:47 AM EDT
ah i understand now my bad i misread what you wrote
November 7 2011 2:49 AM EST
hey just a suggestion could we try increasing our treasure first over the other 2 upgrades?
Currently i'm finding that the rate i'm leveling is outpacing my donation rate even though 90% of income goes to the guild
Have not brought any stats for the past few days and finding mission getting increasing difficult without it
Not saying donation is bad but hoping extra treasure % to help bring us on par with our level first, then we can get the rest :)
I don't find it possible that you're out leveling your donations. It's just not possible.
November 7 2011 3:06 AM EST
Btw, I went and check out the top 10 guilds and i think our buildings are alot better than some of theirs can't believe how strong we are :O
I think everyone deserved a pat for all our hard work and especially to the older player cause i know they really contributed alot more than their fair share ^^
Also another suggestion maybe we could increase mandatory donation on a weekly basics, like say level x level x 110? Of course this should only be implemented after the majority of us have catch up with current standard ;)
November 7 2011 3:19 AM EST
Ok maybe not really outpacing :p
But i have been taking more xp quest over cash quest so its been taking some time to reach the quota. Maybe i'll reach it by tonight or tmr
And i guess i just don't see the point of increasing fortress level cause the extra hp% isn't gonna help us grow faster :/
Upgrading our fortress increases our health, therefore increasing the likelihood of us winning our castle battles, thereby effectively increasing our xp/money rewards. At upper levels castle battles actually start getting really really hard, 25% more health makes a huge difference.
November 7 2011 3:37 AM EST
What is castle battle?
When you do a mission in the castle? The battle you fight at the end of it.
November 7 2011 3:41 AM EST
