"Start Over" Button (in General)

Escuro October 25 2011 10:57 PM EDT

Start over button:
1. Immediately retires all your characters
2. Deletes all your items and cash.
3. Grants full NUB bonus to your account for 6 months

Any item transfers/ cash transfers previous to selecting a "start over" would be deleted by gms.

This should also not make it such a pain to come back to CB2

Thoughts?

AdminNemesia [Demonic Serenity] October 25 2011 11:02 PM EDT

No, not gonna happen.

QBRanger October 25 2011 11:03 PM EDT

So anyone buying items can have them immediately confiscated if the seller hits this button?

Take it away and you get people "storing" good items on friends characters before hitting the reset button.

The only possible way this could ever work is if the new character was forbidden from using auctions and transfers except to and from the auctioneer/blacksmith/forger/store. And forbidden to buy any rares that "pop" up in the store. And likely some other restrictions I have not stated. Almost like a T only player in the regular game. With a NUB.

AdminTitan [The Sky Forge] October 25 2011 11:07 PM EDT

You know how I think we should reward all new players the option to catch up in 6 months, and if you screw up, no problem, try again button!

Better yet:
1) NUB
2) Sell out
3) Start Over Button
4) Repeat
5) ?????
6) Profit

I hate to tell you how cash transfers work
(not really)
but the "GMs" can't delete those
unless you mean CBD

Wow, fail should be...

You know how I think we should reward players that have been playing 7 years straight: All new players the option to catch up in 6 months, and if you screw up, no problem, try again button!

Escuro October 25 2011 11:31 PM EDT

Well it was worth a shot, but I guess it's the same as a NCB only you don't get to keep your stuff.

QBRanger October 26 2011 12:06 AM EDT

Yes,

We get this type post every year or so but a new player. So much it likely should be in the FAQ in the FORS.

Admiralkiller [Cult of the Valaraukar] October 26 2011 1:25 AM EDT

I could like this option if you decide to do it (one time only) within 2 weeks of start or as suggested previously a small sandbox period previous to nub. More for people who really mess up their nub then for anything else. I know I could at least name one person who messed up their 1st 2 weeks :-P

DrkZeraga October 26 2011 2:05 AM EDT

Yup me :/
Created a couple of accounts to try out different strat
Got found out by admin (didn't know multis wasnt allowed)
Got deleted back to this account
Wasted my first 2 weeks of NUB
???
Losses :/

DrkZeraga October 26 2011 2:14 AM EDT

But seriously speaking, it wouldn't be such a bad idea to include in an option to restart the game.

My suggestion would be to allow newbie the power to reset their account, but within the first week of NUB. So they can keep trying over and over again until they're happy :)

You could argue that that way they can keep their NUB indefinitely and just transfer everything before they reset for a new NUB...but seriously how much does a new player earn in a week compared to you guys? o.O

Admiralkiller [Cult of the Valaraukar] October 26 2011 3:04 AM EDT

The nub bonus % is applied to money and xp gain...The ncb bonus is only applied to xp.

Quyen October 26 2011 6:38 AM EDT

well, i wasted my nub, play for 2-3 weeks, forget the game, forget account and forget the site. and here i am a year later :|

Admindudemus [jabberwocky] October 26 2011 6:44 AM EDT

but seriously how much does a new player earn in a week compared to you guys? o.O

take your bonus amount and that is how much more you earn than us. what is the bonus at now?

you also get free ba whereas we have to buy our daily allotment. my daily allotment costs me 144*1435=206640.

a weeks worth of ba would then cost me 206640*6=1239840. ; )

Quyen October 26 2011 6:49 AM EDT

but your cash earnings for each battle should be like 2K or so? :)

Admindudemus [jabberwocky] October 26 2011 7:05 AM EDT

the range for my cash rewards are $450 to $850.

Quyen October 26 2011 7:07 AM EDT

really? ._. thats what i got at 9/20 ._.

Admindudemus [jabberwocky] October 26 2011 7:20 AM EDT

really.

Quyen October 26 2011 7:29 AM EDT

idunno, my highest was like 600-700 with some hits of 800 :>

Sickone October 26 2011 8:16 AM EDT

really? ._. thats what i got at 9/20 ._.

Probably back in your NUB days, you mean.
NUBs also get a cash bonus alongside the XP bonus, but it's significantly smaller than the XP bonus.

Also, when you're small, it's quite normal to find several targets that grant you 100% Challenge Bonus, but up in 6/20 you're lucky if you can find some targets that give you a small positive bonus at all.

Quyen October 26 2011 8:48 AM EDT

Sickone, i never had a real nub. my played time in nub was 3 weeks or so. i tihnk it was of my 100% every time :P

AdminLamuness October 26 2011 11:46 AM EDT

Start over "button" instructions
  1. Immediately retires all your characters
Go to Manage and retire all your characters.

  2. Deletes all your items and cash.
Sell all items to store, donate all CBD to TourneyPrizes.

  3. Grants full NUB bonus to your account for 6 months
Only new players get NUB. You'll have to settle for an NCB when you create a new character.
You've now been empowered Escuro! You had all the tools you needed right in front of you.

Escuro October 26 2011 12:21 PM EDT

Why are the admins of this post being so short with me?

Simple suggestion, maybe not well thought out, take it for what its worth.

To the players who showed me why it's not doable, Thank you. You guys are what keep new players in this community.

TH3 C0113CT0R October 26 2011 1:04 PM EDT

how do you guys get that much money on avg. at 9/20, im at 9/20 right now and fighting all 100% bonus plus clan bonus, and the highest i've seen is 750 avg is 400-600

Gohan [Ka-Tet of the Serene] October 26 2011 1:07 PM EDT

NUB bonus applies to cash gained as well.

Admindudemus [jabberwocky] October 26 2011 1:18 PM EDT

escuro, i was replying to zeraga regarding money earnings, if you took that as me being short with you it certainly wasn't meant that way.

maybe you meant the other admins? if so then i cannot answer for them.

Escuro October 26 2011 1:39 PM EDT

Ah, sorry for the generalization Dudemus, my comment wasn't directed at you.
