Hello, this may be a stupid idea. (in General)

Hum, yeah so, what about an item that would make the wearer immune to your own defensive spells, but would make it work better on the others. Like an invis amulet.

QBRanger January 4 2012 6:04 PM EST

Why would one want to be immune to ones own ED spells?

Jecht January 4 2012 6:09 PM EST

Well this is where I don't know the viability of it but, as my strategy is made of, I don't really need my first minion to get some AS and I would prefer my IF to get more hp from it. Also, since I use PL, having a first minion with 20 is really usefull against decay.

an amulet of exclusion hey

AdminTal Destra January 4 2012 6:51 PM EST

So you would rather have an AoE (as AA calls it) over an AoJ on that minion?

AdminQBGentlemanLoser [{END}] January 4 2012 6:55 PM EST

Not a fan, to be honest. The problem is this;

Take AS for example. For each minion you get extra HP. As per the wiki, 1 minion gives you 50%/50% (of the level, or equivalent to training natural HP, notated as per minion/total), 2 50%/100%, 3 40%/120% and 4 36.25%/145%.

Now imagine you're running a 4 minion team, and you place 3 Null Zone (or whatever you want to call them) amulets on the three 20HP AS casting meat shields.

If the AS was to cast at it's usual total, but on a single minion, you've just given that minion 145% of the HP it would have had, just from training HP naturally (and this doesn't include any ED increasing items. Add Corn/BoE to each of those minion and the total increases).

If, on the other hand, AS still cast as it would on each minion as per a 4 minion team, you now only get 36.25%, far lower than the 50% you would have go form just training AS on a single minion.

So it would be worthless that way.

Basically, this amulet would be the final nail in the coffin for not only single minion, but any minion count lower than 4.

As you get better than RoE XP concentration, with 3 bonus kill slots to boot.

And multi minion teams don't need any more advantages than the major ones they already have.

Sorry.

:(

"So you would rather have an AoE (as AA calls it) over an AoJ on that minion?"

I would not use it on the minion with the IF equipped, I would use it on my first minion.

So my first minion would not get any AS, but all others would get more.

GentlemanLoser, that's just a free win to any mace of disruption user, no?

Jecht January 4 2012 7:07 PM EST

Well if you have a 4 man team, and have 1 equipped with it, then you get the AS of a 3 man team.

I'd probably include a debuff to the minion who is wearing its ED. To lower the effect of what GL is describing.

Also point to make, if the minion is excluded from the HP bonus effects of AS, why would it still be able to receive the PL damage redirection?

Quyen January 5 2012 5:12 AM EST

if it has 20 hp, it still has PL backing it up right? =.= but i get his point.
hes running a AS tank pl battery i believe, with a 20 HP minion on front. that 20 HP minion still get hurt by decay, while still receiving AS. that could make 200K damages that the pl minion has to suck up.

Quyen January 5 2012 7:44 AM EST

Also point to make, if the minion is excluded from the HP bonus effects of AS, why would it still be able to receive the PL damage redirection?

i believe, he wants the ED itself gone, not a skill or anything else.

How would the absence of this new amulet change that? ;)

Well if you have a 4 man team, and have 1 equipped with it, then you get the AS of a 3 man team.

Then it's useless and offers no benefit.

You want it to neuter Decay, by giving you a 20HP meatshield on an AS backed multi minion team. But it would take the AoI slot, which would mean this 20HP minion is killed by a MoD (because of PL) in one swing, and then Decay does its stuff anyway.

Now, if it wasn't an amulet, we just might as well make multi minion teams immune to Decay.

But I'd let this item go, the moment we get another Leadership item that would allow me to reach a 100% damage Decay! ;)
